Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
the actual toasted bagel tastes worse than I expected - so sweet, and neither pumpkiny nor spicy and really just ew.
The punishment is inherent in the sin.
Sorry about the shortened trip, JenP. I hope your DH feels better soon.
I got the "nope" letter from the job I interviewed for last month. It was a stretch, so I'm not surprised. But it's still disappointing.
Sorry you had to cut your trip short, JenP, it sounded magical. Good for you for making the most of your remaining days off.
And, sorry about the job, Calli. I’ve had more than my fair share of job rejections this year and it sucks even if the job maybe wasn’t the best fit for you.
Man, the last three days have been rough, mostly due to work stress. But today has been very, very quiet and I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop.

Ha! I am having chicken soup for lunch and it is absolutely fine. I always feel like eating chicken soup will make me healthier and generally benefit me in myriad ways.
What a mix, sj! I'm glad school seems to be mostly going well for her, sorry she's such a handful at night.
Sorry about the nope, Calli. And about the concerns about that other position, that does suck that you have to think about how terrible people who can be pretty terrible would be to you if you did a job you would otherwise like to do!
JenP I hope the pancreatitis resolves easily, shame you had to miss time but good job planning new relaxing things!!
Work is too much. But part of the problem is a lot is stuff that needs to be collaborative and there are only so many hours for meetings.
But powerball is $1.5 BILLION DOLLARS on Saturday. Wowwww. I could give away money like water.
Billion with a B? To be won in a lottery? What a world!
That's nuts! Guess I'll throw a few bucks at the lottery.
Lovely breakfast, massage, and now picking up Indian takeout from a new, highly rated place, so that's promising.
Got passes for the AA Hist Museum tomorrow, then a late lunch somewhere downtown after... we'll want to talk about it after the museum.
ETA: DH is feeling good and thanks you all for the well wishes.
I'm sorry work is being crap for a bunch of you, and I'm sorry you got the nope, even though you were not surprised by it, Calli. Continued good ~ma in that regard.
If I win a lottery, I'll have to consider this: [link]
It's over the top in some of my favorite ways.
That looks pretty sweet, Calli!
Ugh, invitation to a department meeting tomorrow morning at 9 am with a "please try to attend" note attached. Not necessarily ominous, I suppose, but I don't like it.
That place is fab! Would need to hire a staff to maintain it, but if I were buying it with a couple of my hundreds of millions, then I guess that's not an issue.
We were discussing what we'd do with the Powerball earlier in the week. I basically said I'd call the friend we were visiting and say, "Now what, and how much will it cost for you to handle it for me?"
I think one of the parts I would love the most is just being able to hire other people with the talent for things I don't have and pay them well to do their thing (say, design and decorate a house, or set up a foundation with my millions) and not have to try to do a substandard job myself.
I mean, I do that now with small stuff... but, you know, bigger stuff!
