I emailed Gud yesterday. No response as of yet.
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.

Happy birthday, Susan! That sounds nice.
That ALSO sounds nice, meara!
I am super excited because I am going to the movies tonight! My cousin's husband rented out a theater as a gift for her, so eight of us (three households) are going to watch A Christmas Story and eat popcorn!!!
I love Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat...I haven't made many of the recipes but I just like reading it.
Just from watching her videos and her Netflix show I've adopted a lot of her principles. Most of the things I cook are from my own devising (instead of a recipe) and I'm not afraid to balance a sauce with a capful of Balsamic, or use Soy sauce when basting my chicken (recommend!). I've got a whole bunch of umami tricks up my sleeve now in the never ending search for deeper, richer flavors.

That's wonderful! What a treat! And it'd be so fun to see that particular movie in a theater again.
I have Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat, but I haven't given it a thorough read yet.
Jesse - that's awesome! Enjoy.
OK, I feel good about my purchase -- thank you all for your input re: the Salt, Fat, Acid Heat. Now I'll sit here and drum my fingers until it gets here. (Not really. But I am looking forward to it.)
Today has been remarkably productive, chore-wise. Kitchen cleaned, second load of laundry just finished, litter box refreshed, trash taken out (those two are connected), and several games of online cribbage, too. Nice. Well, the last one's not a chore, just nice to have some distraction in there.
My pain is much better. I'm going to go outside today and see how I feel using the hand controls on my car. I don't think I'd be able to drive long distances, but it would be helpful if I could at least do the driving to and from school.
Great to hear that it's getting better, sj. Hope testing the controls works well for you.
Thanks Jen. As long as I don't forget to take my gabapentin at night, the pain is under control. It's a matter of seeing how my range of motion and ability to keep my arms in the same position for extended periods is.
Ooh, fingers crossed for you, sj!
My friend who's an EMT just had her work partner test positive for covid, so she's quarantining now, obviously, but I think it's outrageous that they don't have them testing regularly! Also, if she tests negative on Monday she can go back to work on Wednesday? That also doesn't sound right to me. Anyway, the whole thing is a lot of ugh.
