My pain is much better. I'm going to go outside today and see how I feel using the hand controls on my car. I don't think I'd be able to drive long distances, but it would be helpful if I could at least do the driving to and from school.
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Great to hear that it's getting better, sj. Hope testing the controls works well for you.
Thanks Jen. As long as I don't forget to take my gabapentin at night, the pain is under control. It's a matter of seeing how my range of motion and ability to keep my arms in the same position for extended periods is.
Ooh, fingers crossed for you, sj!
My friend who's an EMT just had her work partner test positive for covid, so she's quarantining now, obviously, but I think it's outrageous that they don't have them testing regularly! Also, if she tests negative on Monday she can go back to work on Wednesday? That also doesn't sound right to me. Anyway, the whole thing is a lot of ugh.
Glad to hear the pain is pretty under control, sj. Good luck with the driving!
I meant to spend today Doing Stuff but I have already gone back to bed once because being awake is just too hard, so now I am having some oatmeal and watching Doctor Who. Maybe I can do something productive later.
I’m feeling like the worst mom ever. ltc has been whiny and yelling for a couple of days and I just yelled back and stalked into my room.
Timelies all!
sj, I understand. Mr. S has been disregulated the last two days and I am frazzled. He just wouldn't settle down last night until nearly 11, yet woke up at 7:30 this morning. Right now Gary's taken him to a park to run around, though that doesn't seem to get his energy out as much as we'd like.
Meanwhile, one of my crowns fell out at lunch. That's another phone call I have to make Monday morning. (The others are calling the pediatric practice for a refill on Mr. S's meds, and a call to the eye doctor I saw a while back to let them know what to do with the check I wrote them for charges now covered by insurance.)
Oh, no. I’m sorry about the crown Sheryl.
There is no outside to be had here today because it’s raining. ltc’s behavior was much improved when she went back to school but after a week the bad behaviors are creeping back in. And I think seeing her grandparents outside for a bit hurt more than helped because she is so upset and misses them so much.
As long as I don't forget to take my gabapentin at night, the pain is under control.
I do understand this. It's the mid-day dose that I'll miss sometimes and then I can feel the numbness creeping back into my fingertips as the warning. I have actually be surprised at how well this drug is working, and that there is still a much bigger dose they could move to.
I hope that the relief continues for you SJ. I had the cortisone in my back a little over two weeks ago and I have a followup with my physical medicine doctor on Friday. I know that my goal is to preferably avoid back surgery, but forgoing that, to at least delay it as long as I can.
