Handsome brooding vampire guy has to swoop in all sensitive mouth and overhanging forehead. How 'bout leaving some scraps for the homely-looking fellows who don't turn evil when they get some?

Thrive to spite them

This comes up on Tumblr a lot. There is one account I follow and people show up in the Asks of that person just having a horrible time because they are in their 20s (sometimes mid to late, sometimes early) and STILL read /write fanfic and how childish it is and how they feel ashamed and guilty for being SO OLD .

And there is usually the comments along the lines of how OLD do you think the people who run AO3 ARE??? How old do you think the people who started writing ST TOS fanfic or Starsky & Hutch or whatever are now?

Of course there are plenty of people popping up about how they are in their 50s or 40s or 60s and still writing /reading fanfic and it's ok and not to worry and there are people who have written fanfic for decades and didn't get into until their late 20s or 30s or 40s ,e tc.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Yeah, I see those threads on Tumblr often. So ridiculous. (I'm famishedeye over there, if anyone wants to say hi.)

TJ's: Welp, they were out of pumpkin butter ("for the season," at mine, they said. For the season? It's the beginning of the season!)

Autumn Harvest soup is really good, though. So are the GF pumpkin muffins, as reported earlier by Steph. Haven't tried the pancake mix yet, but that might be dinner.

We are going to a craft show today, and then I have some work to do tomorrow. Beautiful day. We should go hiking or something. I mean, we won't, to but it would probably be fun.

What are y'all doing this weekend?

I look more rad than Lutheranism

What are y'all doing this weekend?

Going to TJs for more pumpkin stuff! Also continuing to monitor the recuperating patient. He's doing great, but will be off work for one more week.

So glad to hear Tim is doing well!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I did have no plans, but now I'm going apple picking with my mother and cousin, which will be fun. I have done most of my (minimal) chores, so I'm in good shape.

Our wings are not tired.

Good to hear Tim's recovery is going well.

I had another bonfire this morning with construction debris. Will maybe have one more before I leave. DH is making me crazy with not making a plan for my return. If he isn't coming up (which is fine) then I want to either mail some of my stuff south, or get one of those top of car bags to put stuff up there. Between the dog and cat, and their food and stuff, and my computer stuff, my car gets filled quickly.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

JZ and Matilda are off to RenFaire for the day where Jacqueline will continue to scowl at people for wearing clashing colors and Matilda will be at the Washing Women's Well.

Which means, I have the house to myself for the day which is a rarity that I will enjoy.

Halloween Viewing: A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night (probably my all-time favorite vampire movie, though Let The Right One In is up there); a bunch of Gravity Falls shorts that originally ran on YouTube but are up at Disney+ now; Great Pumpkin (with whole family); The Keep (infamously difficult to see 80s horror movie about Nazis and a hell gate. Currently up at Criterion Channel with their 80s Horror collection); Bell Book & Candle (again a rewatch. I've seen it multiples. Have the soundtrack on vinyl. There used to be a Zodiac Club in SF that recreated the mural from the movie); various classic Halloween themed Disney shorts.

Yet to watch: The Uninvited (40s ghost story) or Over The Garden Wall.

What are y'all doing this weekend?

Wandering around the local Fall Festival for lunch, and hopefully getting to tour this house with my realtor at some point: [link]
