Apparently if you're enough of a power nerd, there is nothing that cannot be flowcharted.

Tim is getting a chest tube jabbed into his side as we speak, to remove the air between the lung and the pleura that’s squishing the lung. I wanted to watch, but they said there’s barely enough room for a gurney and 2 clinicians. Dang.

That's a great-looking house, Gud.

Lovely to see your pixels, Nilly. You have definitely not done anything to offend me.

Fingers crossed all goes smoothly for Tim, Steph. I know those drainage tubes can hurt like the devil, but hopefully they'll be able to stitch him right back up.

I’ve just been waiting in Tim’s empty ER room for an hour, and the migraine isn’t going away, and I would pay someone a million dollars if I could go home.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Well the last thing you want now is a hug but you’ve definitely got my empathy and general fist shaking at the timing of the world and all.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Steph, I'm sure you know this, but just in case you don't remember with all of the other stuff going on, you can take a second dose of Ubrelvy after two hours. (I think it's Ubrelvy you're on).

Thrive to spite them

Steph I hope you can get some relief from the migraine.

I'm sorry Tim had another collapsed lung, I hope that things for him go smoothly and they can prevent it from happening again.

Ugh, that sounds like a cluster, Teppy. I hope you've gotten to go home or take another dose or something, by now.

Nilly!! So good to hear from you :)

It's a beautiful day out, and yesterday was also gorgeous, and I feel guilty that I have not gone and enjoyed any of it. But I have a friend coming to visit later this week, and am crossing fingers it will at least not rain (even though it will definitely be colder)

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Congrats, Gud!

Health~ma to Tim, Steph.

Nilly is wise, as usual.

After the debacle that was Erev Rosh Hashanah, we are going to go back home after dinner tomorrow. We are also going to break the fast on our own. The nanny will be watching Mr. S while we do daytime services at my MIL's house.

I got another dose of Ubrelvy when I got home around 7:45, and the migraine has pretty much retreated. The kitty is sitting on me and FARTING. Oh my god.

The procedure to remove the air so the lung can re-inflate went fine; by the time I left, the doctor was listening to Tim's lung and said it sounded like it wasn't totally re-inflated yet, but she was happy with the progress.

Once a person has a collapsed lung, they're more likely to have it happen again, and since this is the second collapsed lung Tim has had, he's undergoing a thoracic procedure tomorrow to prevent future collapsed lungs. I had no idea this was a thing, but in the procedure they basically go in through the catheter from today's procedure and use the medical equivalent of superglue or something to "stick" the outside of the lung to the pleural wall, so that air can't get in between there and collapse the lung any more. That is WILD. Since it's minimally invasive, he'll probably only have to stay one more night at the hospital, which is good.

I ate some granola and I am going to pass the fuck out now.

Holy fucking shit! Superglue to the rescue.

I feel like Life Itself did not get the memo that you are an anxious person by inclination, and don't really need Anxiety Provoking Events on the regular.

If I were you, and undergoing your circumstances, I would act like an excitable Emu placed in a pen with a wind-up action toy. Running around with my head lagging behind on my long neck, leaping sideways intermittently.
