Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I feel like professionals need to mention at least one thing you are doing right unless you are messing things up so bad that a child needs to be removed and that is CLEARLY not the situation in any of these situations.
Yeah, that never happens with parenting stuff. The things you're doing right are just considered a given.
Awww Nilly’s most excellent post. I love it every year.
Me too.
Tons of health~ma for Tim and calm~ma for you, Tep.
I just looked at our calendar for this week, and I so don't wanna. TCG has night meetings tonight and tomorrow night, which means solo parenting at bedtime, ltc's picture day is this week (we already picked out and outfit but there will probably still be DRAMA the morning of), and crazy hat day is on Friday and ltc wants to decorate one herself. So, I have to go to the dollar store to get some supplies for that and then actually make time to do that one night this week. We're leaving for Mom's for the long weekend on Friday. So, we have to actually pack some time between now and then so that we can pick her up from school on Friday and immediately head out to try to beat the worst of the traffic. It's probably not going to be all that bad, but it feels like a lot right now.
Shana Tova, Nilly.
Never seen you have anything to atone for with me - but if it makes you check in once a year I'm all for it.
I guess a partially collapsed lung is better than totally collapsed?
Yikes, Teppy. I x-posted with you. I hope they can get it fixed quickly, and help with the pain. They don't think it's related to his RA?
Managing the brothers Beckmeyer seems like it could have sitcom potential. Lung -ma to Tim!
I’m in Toronto trying to get passport photos taken, to finally stop putting off getting my Canadian passport. Not for any specific reason, but you know, not ^not* for no reason.
Tonight I get to go have dinner with all the “aunts” aka my mom’s childhood and college friends. Best part of business travel is when it takes me closer to people I love. (Many of y’all included at one time or another!)

Yes, although since this is his second collapsed lung, he might need a surgical procedure to prevent it from happening again.

I’ve read that it can be related to RA, but the doctor here hasn’t mentioned it.
I’m impressed with the hospital cafeteria food — baked tilapia, broccoli, and rice. I was expecting something deep fried or just a bag of chips.
Also, I am so smart for always having migraine meds and Ativan in my purse, because I have a hell of a migraine starting and I’m about 30 seconds away from a total panic attack. Hooray drugs.
Looks like we are getting it.
That's great, Gud! Congrats.
So nice to see Nilly pixels.
I hope that Tim recovers quickly, Steph.
Tim is getting a chest tube jabbed into his side as we speak, to remove the air between the lung and the pleura that’s squishing the lung. I wanted to watch, but they said there’s barely enough room for a gurney and 2 clinicians. Dang.
That's a great-looking house, Gud.
Lovely to see your pixels, Nilly. You have definitely not done anything to offend me.
Fingers crossed all goes smoothly for Tim, Steph. I know those drainage tubes can hurt like the devil, but hopefully they'll be able to stitch him right back up.
I’ve just been waiting in Tim’s empty ER room for an hour, and the migraine isn’t going away, and I would pay someone a million dollars if I could go home.
