Now I want a chopped cheese! Ya know, just to help Trudy's dad feel better.
Colors up here have turned to the spectacular, but frost on my windshield this morning, which not as nice. DH talking about leaving Monday now.
My sister has power and internet, which means phone since she has our business IP phone. Her cell still is down. My brother is still without power. What a serious mess all around them. They were very very lucky.
I'm glad your brother and sister are ok, Laura.
The chopped cheese sandwich looks really good.
Bits of Ian are hitting my area right now. For us it's just some desperately needed rain and a bit more wind than usual.
Laura, may things continue to improve for them; Calli, may you stay safe, warm and dry.
I was today days old when I learned that our heat pump will not be mended before 10 November at the earliest, as the replacement coil has to be ordered from the factory. A summer with no AC, and now no heat going into the rainy season. Jim and I will weigh up "Space heaters and try to gut it out" versus "Month-to-month lease and no heat, let's move now".
Otherwise we're well, thanks. How are you lot?
Amy, I vote move now. That is no good.
Ugh. Climate control does come in handy.
What are the weekend plans? Family friend is visiting for a few days. He lives up near the St. Lawrence. I'm roasting butternut squash for a curried coconut cream variety of soup to make with it. Going to be out and about as much as possible as the Fall leaves are impressive. Go for a last boat ride (well bundled) before DH pulls the boat out for winter. Also need to finish shrink wrapping the windows to cut down on the drafts and keep whatever heat my little space heaters produce inside. The send DH off to Florida probably on Monday.
Why is today SOOO SLOOOOWWWW?
We’re going to a garlic festival Sunday but we don’t have any other plans.
Flu shots tomorrow, woohoo.
Dana, Jim and I are getting our flu and bivalent boosters tomorrow as well. Woo and indeed hoo.
My brother is calling in the IOU I gave him (he asked for) a few years ago for his birthday and we are going to see Cabaret at a local theatre. I've seen the movie before, but never the stage version. I'm looking forward to it, except for the prospect of trying to find parking in Old Town, not pretty.
