I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

It sounds like hospitalization is the best bet, even if your dad is unhappy with it. Here’s hoping they can get him to a point of stability, Steph. I’m glad your brother is coming to help.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I'm sorry, Steph. I'm glad your brother is able to help right now.

I'm so sorry it's all such unbearable shit, Steph. I'm sorry you're feeling so physically exhausted, too. (Not because that means you can't go to the hospital, but because that is shitty all by itself, and long Covid symptoms are awful).

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Very glad your brother can do all he is doing, Tep, and that you can rest. Just reading about all that is pretty tiring, being part of it is going to wear you down even if you aren’t at the hospital or whatever even aside from the long Covid fatigue, so do allow yourself to rest as much as you can.

Our wings are not tired.

It took me a moment to parse this sentence.

I was thinking of you when I heard Fiona was coming this way. Sounds like it is pretty messy up there. Chilly time of year to not have power.

Teppy's brother gets lots of gold stars for dealing with this so well. It's a lot.

Ian was headed straight for my siblings, but has decided Tallahassee would be a better place to be. They are good about the predictions, but there are a lot of factors which steer them this way and that.

Looking better on us getting the condo. Digits crossed.

Fingers crossed, Laura!

Non-Hurricane Fiona sighting! Hey, Fiona!

East Coasters, batten down.

Oh, Teppy! That's too fuckin' much. Your brother's being an absolute champ.

Dinner together every night sounds very promising, msbelle.

Good for your brother, Tep. Good luck to all of you.

Stay safe, east coasters!

Apparently if you're enough of a power nerd, there is nothing that cannot be flowcharted.

No word yet from the mental health crisis unit. I'm getting antsy waiting to hear.

Thrive to spite them

YAY MAc got a job.

Boo Covid.

Steph -- I'm really sorry you have this stress but I'm glad your brother is handling a lot of this and I hope that this ends up with your dad getting the help he really needs.

I went up to Mom's Thursday after work and just came back this evening (it's Sat) so I got at least a whole day with her. Her house in FL is under contract and the closing date is relatively soon. So yay for that. My aunt seems to be doing a little better in the assisted living, although she called the other day to tell my Mom she woke up and was blind and then called Mom around 3:00 in the afternoon but didn't want to call a nurse. Mom called the assisted living place and hasn't ever heard back so I guess it was nothing. I dunno. Somehow CPS was informed about something regarding my cousin's son BUT it seems to be positive, his mom was honest about her struggles and CPS is going to get them more support and hopefully therapy so... I hope that works. Then Mom told me she's had some GI issues for about a month and finally went to the doctor yesterday. The doctor said he thought it was... I can't remember but basically he thinks her gut flora has gotten out of balance and gave her medicine and said to have clear liquids for 2 days, semi clear for 2 days and then a bland diet for about a week. She's decided that she feels better and doesn't need it. I told her she needs to at least try the diet and if she really thinks her problems are over then call the doctor on Monday to see if she needs to take the medicine.

Then I came home and there was awesome mail from David-- I have all kinds of cool stickers- an Edward Gorey sticker book, pens, washi tape, Spririted Away pencils. It's awesome!
