The NP who my dad has seen at the geriatric medicine practice was out today, but her PA read my brother's email about Dad calling the cops last night; she recommended doubling his antipsychotic dosage for now, and then on Monday my brother will talk to the NP about getting a referral to a psychiatrist.
My brother also talked to the police today -- the cops who were at Dad's place last night were off duty when my brother called, but the person he spoke to said that the Cincinnati police do have a mental health crisis unit with mental health clinicians that they'll send instead of cops (I had no idea our PD had that, but it's definitely needed) if it's a low-risk situation. But first the person has to be registered in the CPD's system as having a diagnosed mental illness. So my brother is going to tackle that Monday, too.

Yes, having him registered will be a big help, and of course being inpatient until they get him stable would be a whole lot better. I hope you can distract yourself this weekend.

BTW, a couple of days later and I still have a nice lumpy tender spot on my arm from the Tdap shot. Not a painful swollen egg like shingles, but noticeable.

I'm glad Mac is settling in and got a job, and I'm glad Steph's brother is helpful with their dad and I hope he gets his meds etc figured out., because that is a lot for you to deal with!
But my chicken/lemon/garlic/orzo soup is soooo good.
I've been trying to eat down my freezer, which includes a bunch of turkey stock. Do you think there is enough lemon in the world to make it avgolemono-esque??
