Ugh, it's been a day. Mr. S likes to go out and get the newspaper in the morning. This morning he took off running and I had to chase him down. He was not happy when I steered him into the house. Then he had a meltdown at school, prompted by seeing his classmates with notes from their parents who had attended back-to-school night. Gary and I were unable to attend. Tonight we will write him a note full of love and attach it to one of his stuffed cats, if he tells us which one he wants it on.

Conference day 2 over. Ish. I don't think I'm going to the awards thing. The stage production is quite impressive but also quite loud. And laser-y, but I like a good laser burst every now and then, TBH. BUT Jen needs to rest and reset for tomorrow.

I think I might have a cold? Just a mild one: some sniffles and a bit of a sore throat. But I've tested myself three times and I definitely don't have covid. And it rained, so it's probably not allergies. Dunno.

Work has been a LOT this week and I'm stoked to have tomorrow off except I will probably have to do work.

In other news, should I go see The Woman King this weekend? I feel that I should.

Mac did not get the first job he had an interview for, but he had an interview with a Walgreens store yesterday. Things continue to be all good with him. He is pleasant and will do things to help if asked, but not if unprompted. Current ask is that he shower every day. Not sure if he was in some depressive state or just a level of lazy and inertia monster that is just him.

Walked into the office being 83 degrees and blowing heat. I did not think the heat was even turned on yet. It is our first brisk autumnal morning, but we do not need this much heat.

I'm glad to hear Mac is doing well. Compulsive showering young men are easier to deal with than ones that need to be convinced to shower. Hope he goes in that direction.

Hit the 30s here last night! Eeep. Only going to be mid 40s for the high today. Not going crazy with the little heaters so it is about 58 in the house. I did just put some chocolate muffins in the oven, and may bake some more later too! I'm layered.

Okay, law enforcement has cleared the campus and said there's no threat. The police said that a report about an active shooter was called in, but there was no shooter. Thank god.
