I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

{{{Cass}}} Poor pup and poor y'all, that sounds really scary!

In petty annoyance news: I am working in the office today and forgot to bring my computer glasses. Oops. Perhaps more frequent breaks from the screen will help with that...

Coincidentally, my DH is suffering through a bout of pancreatitis at the moment. I had a bout of it once and know the pain. It sucks.

He's under doctors' care and making an appointment with a specialist, but it's such a bitch of a malady.

I remember when ND was in the hospital and how really deadly serious it got whenever DH's flares up. I finally remembered to tell him that to explain my intense obsession with doing whatever we can to sort this thing out.

We were in the ER last night, though they ended up sending us home (which was the right call), but holy hell am I tired today.

One meeting in a couple.of minutes, and then nap time. I should shower first, but I probably won't.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

The contractor is here and the agenda for today he told me is "demolition" and I can hear it already.

It's just going to be like that for the next couple weeks. Oy.

(Our decorative balcony doesn't drain properly and it has caused dry rot in the garage door frame so the balcony needs to be fixed with new drainage and the garage door frame ripped out and replaced.)

At this point it feels like 90% of all home maintenance is dealing with water that got where it wasn't supposed to be.

Fortunately, unlike the window restoration, this project should stick pretty close to its timetable, as our contractor has blocked out the calendar and there's nothing fancy or exotic needed in the supplies.

Also, we're awaiting a visit from the Geek Squad to put in a new motherboard on our new but not working TV.

Blah blah house maintenance blah.

Yikes! Poor puppies and humans.

My friend had to have her gallbladder out after pancreatitis and now she can't have the fatty foods.

That sounds right.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Leaky basements, I curse you.

The long Covid fatigue has been exceptionally bad for the past week and a half. I'd like a new immune system, please. It's pretty demoralizing. Or depressing. Or another d-word.

Our wings are not tired.

Sending the healing~ma to JenP's DH. Painful maladies suck.

As do fatigue causing maladies! Sending stamina~ma to Teppy.

DH hasn't suffered any fatigue and is going stir crazy. He has done laundry, did dishes, worked in the yard, and did office work work. I may draw a little line on his test when it does come back negative.

Yeah, I had acute necrotizing pancreatitis and as you all know it was no joke. Thankfully it didn't develop into chronic pancreatitis which does happen in some folks.

Mr. Scola’s wardrobe by Botany 500

I've been following a Youtuber who bought a house. In the beginning she was all excited about the renovation/restoration she was planning to do. But then she starting knocking out some walls and finding water damage (and the bugs that come with it). And then week after week, it just got even worse. And worse. Like most of the support beams are completely rotted out and it's amazing that the house is still standing.

She's well past the point where anyone else would have given up, or done a complete teardown and rebuild, but she keeps plugging away at it.
