I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Happy birthday, Trudy!

I hope your DH can find a safe way to do most of what he wants/needs to do, Laura.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Happy birthday, Trudy.

Our wings are not tired.

Well, DH will be here a while since he is positive now too. Our doctor called him in meds and yelled (not really) at me for not calling him when I found out. I have records at the local health center and he doesn't so it made sense for him to call the Florida doctor. Anyway, his assistant coach is taking care of the pre-season tournaments. Regular season doesn't start until November. So he is stuck up here! He is coughing, but no fever. I am feeling much better, just stuffed up.

Sorry to hear that, Laura, but I'm glad you're feeling better and hope his passes easily, too.

Grey, rainy Monday here, and I'm on a slow start, it seems.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Aw, recovery~ma for the both of you, Laura.

Today is my dad’s birthday, and we celebrated yesterday by taking ferry into the city and checking out the new Tunnel Tops part of the Presidio. It’s pretty great, highly recommended- all the interpretive stuff is well thought out and they clearly listened to input from a variety of stakeholders, the views are wonderful, the Outpost playground area looks like a lot of fun and is just neat to look at, etc. unfortunately, while I was out doing that (and going to dinner) someone tried to steal my catalytic converter and for all I know actually did but certainly damaged my exhaust system so there was a long period of trying to arrange for roadside assistance through my insurance, who wanted me to file a claim first (at least that was what the automated system directed me to) and then wanted to send me to a body shop when I need a muffler shop but I eventually did get a tow truck and the driver was extremely nice and seemed very competent and gave me confidence that that’s all at least one step closer to being resolved. Came to my parents’ place with them and am now waiting to hear from the Toyota dealer we had the car towed to on the theory that if I do need the cc replaced they are a good option for that. We shall see. Don’t have my laptop, of course, so cannot work but my usual Monday meeting was canceled for other reasons so that’s not a big problem.

Whew. Didn’t sleep well after all that and kind of want to go back to bed but don’t want to miss the dealership calling.

I am weirdly irritated that this happened in a garage where I was paying for parking.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

someone tried to steal my catalytic converter

Boo! That's fucky! I'm outraged on your behalf!

Laura, hope you and DH glide through it easily and quickly.

Grey day here. Matilda is resisting Monday and all its charms.

Our wings are not tired.

That really sucks, -t. What a mixed day! The garage should at least have camera coverage, but it would be nice if someone monitored it!

Boo catalytic converter thefts are such a racket. Jeez.

I am so not awake. I have had a headache off and on since Friday—I took meds Friday and it went away, but Saturday it was back. I tried various non-prescription methods Saturday and Sunday with limited success (it was better but not gone) and took a sleeping pill last night to go to bed early. Woke up at 3am and still felt it so took another prescription pill then. Feel ok now but (a) worried it’ll come back and (b) hungover from the sleeping pill.

In related news, trying to decide if I should get more jaw Botox. I’d 100% do it if it weren’t so dang expensive—it’s almost $1000. And it doesn’t make things 100% better, but does definitely help. Argh.

Have heard from dealership, he said if I do need a new cc it may not arrive until March! I’m still hoping I won’t actually need to replace it. Waiting to hear from insurance now so they can authorize the dealership doing the inspection and goviyan estimate. Whee.

Punishingly Intricate

Bummer! We just got a cage put on ours this summer because stealing them from Priuses has been all the rage here.

I’m supposed to be doing a big copy editing job but access to the tools I need is fucked up. So I’m just sitting here stressing about how much the job search process sucks.
