Boo catalytic converter thefts are such a racket. Jeez.
I am so not awake. I have had a headache off and on since Friday—I took meds Friday and it went away, but Saturday it was back. I tried various non-prescription methods Saturday and Sunday with limited success (it was better but not gone) and took a sleeping pill last night to go to bed early. Woke up at 3am and still felt it so took another prescription pill then. Feel ok now but (a) worried it’ll come back and (b) hungover from the sleeping pill.
In related news, trying to decide if I should get more jaw Botox. I’d 100% do it if it weren’t so dang expensive—it’s almost $1000. And it doesn’t make things 100% better, but does definitely help. Argh.
Have heard from dealership, he said if I do need a new cc it may not arrive until March! I’m still hoping I won’t actually need to replace it. Waiting to hear from insurance now so they can authorize the dealership doing the inspection and goviyan estimate. Whee.
someone tried to steal my catalytic converter and for all I know actually did but certainly damaged my exhaust system
Bummer! We just got a cage put on ours this summer because stealing them from Priuses has been all the rage here.
I’m supposed to be doing a big copy editing job but access to the tools I need is fucked up. So I’m just sitting here stressing about how much the job search process sucks.
I had a shield thing put on mine, which was cut through my dad thinks the opening was not big enough to remove the thing. The insurance appraiser will go inspect it on Wednesday and then the dealer can do his diagnosis and then I will know, I guess. Everything takes so long! Meanwhile my dad is loaning me his Honda Insight which is really nice of him but he not-so-secretly also doesn’t want to let it out of his sight so that’s all kind of fraught.
Oh, that all sucks, -t! I hope it is less bad than it sounds like it could be.
Also sucks for Laura+DH and lisah and meara!
I have a petty complaint: my title. Not my job or my salary, just my title. I was just in a meeting with two people with equal-ish experience and better titles saying they just do what I tell them!
That is not a good enough argument to get a title bump, but I've got to put a case together this winter.
Thanks for the birthday happies. Had a quiet brunch with a couple friends. We had an awning and it was raining so that was nice and cozy.
That sounds good, Trudy. Glad to hear it.
Title bump seems like it ought to be an easy ask. Good for you for figuring out you want it!
I am home, cat is fed (poor thing had to go over 24 hours with no new food, her complaints were slightly more desperate than when it has been minutes since her dish was empty), and I'm working. Did nothing this morning but talk on the phone, really, but I am exhausted. Also, forgot Dad's car is a stick shift until I got into it to back it out of the garage, but that skill set came back to me pretty fast. I do feel like I should try to drive as little as possible until I can give it back, and try to make that as soon as possible, though.
Ugh, lisah, I hate it when job tools are not accessible! Also that the job search process sucks, it certainly does. Much ugh.
So sorry about the headache, meara.

In my itty bitty company it used to be a rule that people chose their own title when we ordered business cards. People always gave reasonable appropriate titles so it worked out.
Timelies all!
That's awful -t. Hope that you get the best possible outcome.
