Went to round 1 of the big fire department fundraiser event. Each year on the Labor Day weekend they have the annual Steak Bake, which involves no baking, but that's the name. Runs from 4-10 PM. We went at 4 to get the dinner (steak, corn on the cob, potatoes) and raffle tickets. They raffle off a truck, selling tickets all summer. Also various other smaller raffles. We'll go back later for the music and dancing and prize drawings. There will no doubt be a lot of personal fireworks happening all around the lake in the spirit of celebration. I am keeping my over 21 wrist band on! Ticket seller took my word on my age since I didn't bother to bring ID.

Mac is here and getting settled in. We’ve eaten and Bailey the dog is OVER THE MOON that her boy is here. The dog who barks at everyone who enters my house did not bark once at mac and she would not leave his side during our meal.

Another day spent mostly in children’s programming. Mr. S had a meltdown in the dealers’ room because we wouldn’t buy him a $60 3-D dragon. Sigh…

I’m rewatching Highlander. You know, doesn’t really hold up.

You know what is exhausting? Worry. Mac and I are both crashing. I think going to bed at 8pm is the right plan.

So glad tomorrow is a holiday.

I just watched the FSU vs LSU game. it came down to the last second of the game. Actually past the last second since LSU scored in the last 2 seconds and they had an extra point. FSU won. FSU actually played well and did better than Iv'e seen in a long time.

But it sucks because that means that Buffistas had to watch their team lose and I hate that. But after all the struggles and drama and issues with FSU they are playing well and it's good to see them play well from start to finish and not just fold after the half.

I hope it was a good night in the msbelle household.

I was social! Real social. Eeep, inside with lots of people social. First the big firehouse event, which was outside, and pleasant enough. It ended at 10 and clearly many people drifted over to the local bar after so I went too. As would be ironic after a fire department event there were likely way more people at the bar than fire regs would like, but anyway. Socialized with old friends, new friends, and even strangers. Played pool on the 7' bar table. Poor owner was by herself but managed. She'll be wiped out today. Stayed there until 12:30! It felt good to be around people, now I am hoping they were healthy people since conversation meant shouting.
