Welp, it’s arrival day and I’m up and contemplating lots of little things I’d like to get done. Some just because they need doing (mow lawn, mop kitchen, clean off kitchen table, vacuum car) and some need done in mac’s area (cut and hang last boards on wall, hang lamp, clean toilet, clean stairs and get carpet pieces on them).

I’m going to wait to start anything until I know he is up. 1 step closer to n mmm as king the plane. I’m seriously worried he will miss plane, also worried he will have issues at security. Everything, every. Thing. In his apartment reeks of pot.

As for me, I'm dogsitting my niece's pup so I have double the amount of black dog in the house today. We got a good walk in before it started to warm up, and now I'm letting butter come to room temp before I start my fruitcakes. Also I have to go hang some laundry on the line in the backyard.

Californians: in addition to the ridonkulous heat this week (4-5 days of 115F in the Central Valley!), there is a hurricane brewing off Mexico that is expected to come north along the coast. Maybe it will at least douse the wildfires?

I went to a friend’s and played poker for her birthday, and won! But only because her mom gave up and went to bed and gave me most of her chips. Otherwise I would have lost much sooner.

Also I had bizarre dreams last night that msbelle had killed a man (not sure who) and none of us were terribly fussed about that but there was this whole thing where she was like,staying in his house and he was supposed to just be “missing” but the authorities had gotten involved and she had his body in the trunk of her car and we were trying too figure out where she could put it and not be suspicious or have the body sniffing dogs find it. …wtf

Went to round 1 of the big fire department fundraiser event. Each year on the Labor Day weekend they have the annual Steak Bake, which involves no baking, but that's the name. Runs from 4-10 PM. We went at 4 to get the dinner (steak, corn on the cob, potatoes) and raffle tickets. They raffle off a truck, selling tickets all summer. Also various other smaller raffles. We'll go back later for the music and dancing and prize drawings. There will no doubt be a lot of personal fireworks happening all around the lake in the spirit of celebration. I am keeping my over 21 wrist band on! Ticket seller took my word on my age since I didn't bother to bring ID.
