but oh well, I'd say live and learn but I doubt I have actually learned much of anything, I expect to continue such foolishness, I've been doing it a long time now.
In SF you'll get ticketed while you're street parked for lapsed registration. Multiple tickets until you get it done. I've also been pulled over by CHIPS on the Bay Bridge (had to exit on Treasure Island) with registration only a month past due.
Very aggressive about it here.
I did my morning run and I'm about to shower and do more walking and shopping, so I should get thousands of steps in today. Ooh - I checked my phone and I'm now averaging 10,000 steps a day over the last year.
Over the last month my average has been 12,264 steps a day with a high of 18,323 on Aug. 20th.
I walked plenty before but am doing more now that we've moved to the new house.
So far no contractors today....eerily quiet.
But we're meeting with our regular (that is - not the window restorationists) contractor tomorrow to go over the "punch list." This will include installing the new light fixtures. Woot!
We're all just doing the best we can pretending to be grownups and hoping no one notices we're faking it a lot of the time!
Ain't that the truth!
There's a funny story in my family about a "young adult" group at church that my father tried to join when he was well into his 30s, but now I get it!

Wow! I only averaged over 10K the week I was doing two long dog walks a day.

So very true.

My son has had Live tattooed on one wrist and Learn on the other. It is truly amazing that I have resisted telling him that he has done neither. Restraint I tell you.
I definitely do not have 10k steps or anywhere near. But I DO have a contractor here today! He was fixing my neighbor’s balcony and I asked him to do mine too (some wood trim getting gnarly and/or rotting). We don’t have an HOA for our three units but generally if one of us gets somebody for something (paint, or landscaping) we check if the others need/want it too. A couple years ago I got painters and roof de-mossing and we split the cost. She sent me the info for this guy and the guy who she had do pressure washing, etc.
That's a good way to have a mini HOA, meara.
No where near 10,000 here these days, but I get robbed on my steps on the treadmill. My watch doesn't pick those up.
installing the new light fixtures.
Fun! I bet with a vintage house you can find a lot of nifty options.
I have an old kerosene lamp from a 1904-ish Ford Model A delivery van. If I ever get my own place I hope to wire it for electricity and use it as a front door light fixture.
It is 112F at my warehouse today.
Ouch. That is way too hot.
I haven't felt great today but I think that's because of the night time cold medicine I took in the wee hours of the morning trying to get to sleep.
So haven't done much except feel kind of barely awake.
Got a letter from the lawyer, there's a hearing scheduled for Oct 13 for worker's comp. I'm trying not to freak out about it. I'm hoping that something will happen and it will not go to a hearing because I really don't want to be nervous and try not to ramble under oath.
I hope it's easier and less of a big deal than you expect, askye.
I am also super sleepy, for no particular reason, just hit the afternoon wall I guess. I drove today because that just made more sense at the time, but now I have to drive home and climbing onto a bus and zoning out for an hour sounds so much more appealing than staying alert and awake and driving for 20-30 minutes! Once I get home I can lie down, though. I was thinking I should go grocery shopping on the way home but I don't think that's going to happen.
