There is, as far as I can tell, no difference whatsoever between grits and polenta except what you call them. Either the porridge style preparation or the chilled and fried version are common to both.
Strictly speaking they are made from different varieties of corn, but I doubt most people could tell the difference in a blind taste test.

My weekend has begun! We have planned to do nothing, on purpose. I have dinner with a friend on Sunday, but that's it.
We've been doing good stuff for the last five weekends, which was also on purpose, because we'd become sort of reclusive. But... break time.
I plan to listen to my book on audible a lot.
