I like books. I just don't want to take on too much. Do they have an introduction to the modern blurb?

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Timelies!

All pretty tasty although I am not used to sangria including vodka or rum or whatever. Anyway, lying down now.

sangria tradtionally involves brandy, so can have quite a kick.

The Covid instances among the vaccinated is very concerning.

Yep, just got it for the first time. Vaxxed and (single) boosted. Don’t mean to sound like a Republican, but it is currently presenting as a general cold. Sinus headache, runny nose. Treatable with acetominophen and psuedoephedrine.

Wish me luck on the house hunt, gang!

Mad house~ma!

I just got a quote for reupholstering one of the couches and it is stupid expensive.

Upholstering is crazy, but worth it if the furniture has good bones. Yes, you can sometimes buy new furniture for cheaper, but it’s crap.

I did far better when I wasn’t sober the year before.

I also bowl better with a few beers. Probably because I dislike bowling in general, and if I’ve had a beer or two, I’m not bowling, I’m drinking with friends and occasionally throwing a ball at some sticks.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

The plumber has finally left, ltc is with her grandparents, and TCG is still at work. I actually have the house to myself!

Our wings are not tired.

Hey Vortex! Sorry about the Covid, but if it means more chill time to visit here that's cool.

Yes, bowling is improved with alcohol if only for the not caring about the gutter percentage.

Random construction update. The view of the foundation from the sides of the camp were super scary so the crew tore up the floorboards of my front porch to see how bad it was going to be and how involved to deal with it. After tearing stuff out they put a level on the beams and dead level. The chances of this happening in a wood house nearly 100 years old is pretty close to zero. Bottom line, isn't going to be that extensive a project to fix the broken stuff. Still have to secure it all, but they don't have to do a bunch of jacking to level things out.

eta: Woo! Make yourself a tasty treat and enjoy some junk tv!

That sounds good Laura!

Vortex sorry you have been felled! I’m very much wondering because I saw a study of hospital workers (who test regularly!) and it said based on antibodies 40% of the people who had omicron had no idea. So maybe I have had covid??

I feel bowling is like pool—a drink or two may loosen me up a little, and get better, until another drink or two makes me worse again!!

Thrive to spite them

I'm vaxxed but not boosted.

Gave M his covid test and it turned positive almost immediately which makes me wonder if I did something wrong or it's just really really positive.

Sj sorry the party didnt' turn out the way you were hoping

Did play with some stencils/stamping today on some gelli prints so that was nice.

I'm about to start making some beef and vegetable soup and once that is simmering away I'm going to run to the store to get some decongestant and tissues since that seems to be needed around here.

The head construction guy was nearly in tears. He was sure it was going to be swiss cheese under the house. It was cute to see how happy he was to have a good surprise under the floorboards.

Nope - positive. False negatives are far more common. I'm sorry.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Good foundation news, Laura!

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

When I was sick I definitely had a few tests where the strip turned positive as soon as the liquid hit it.

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Oh yeah, for sure. The first few days, it turned DARK positive within 30 seconds.
