I want to torture you. I used to love it, and it's been a long time. I mean, the last time I tortured someone, they didn't even have chainsaws.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Go Cass with the stuff-doing and the not procrastinating!

I'm happy to report that we are once again a functional two-pig household; the animal shelter seemed positive they could find a happy, non-murderous home for Pickles and that she'd be fine, and now we have Gimlet-who-is-now-Ringo, and Prubs is bopping around the cage and vocalizing and being active and cheerful and acting like a brisk young woman of three instead of a crone of five. We're all incredibly relieved. And now we're about to get a couch, and the rest of the windows are for-real on their way and may be in by September! I just won't know what to do with myself, with glass windows and a couch and happy guinea pigs who just go out every day and refuse to choose violence.

And an eleventh grader. Holy crap we have an eleventh grader in the house, a diligent AP-homework-doing fussing-over-lonely-classmates functional-romantic-relationship-having eleventh grader who feels like possibly the most adult human in the house.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

It’s good to see your post, Epic. I’m glad the news from your doctor is good, and I wish your work system was better.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Aw, that’s a lot of good news, JZ! I love to read it!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

JZ, that's all wonderful news!

The calendar between now and the beginning of the school year is so filled with social obligations. It's somewhat overwhelming.

Thrive to spite them

JZ that is wonderful news all around.

I finally had my first mammogram. I really need to get a colonoscopy and I've been putting that off but I know I shouldn't and that is on my list of things to deal with.

I need to find a new psychitrist/meds person because the person back in Brevard is leaving the clinic so now is a good time to find someone who is in state. Which I hate doing because it's hard and I haven't had the best track record with them , except in Brevard those have been ok.

And I should probably see about a dermatologist as well since I have moles and fair skin and my dad has lots of issues, although Dad has spent a lot more time in the sun than I have.

Our wings are not tired.

Nice to see people taking care of themselves because I want you to be healthy!

Vermont was so nice. We did lots. The hotel was lovely. Ben & Jerry's was too crowded, but a required stop. #1's GF loved Vermont Teddy Bear and I was delighted that they stuffed them with fluffed up plastic water bottles. I think she said 4 million of them a year, but I could be misremembering that part of the tour. But millions. Vermont Artisan Coffee is yummy. Too much of the food everywhere was yummy. We went to a dairy farm and saw cows and sheep and bought well aged cheddar and other stuff. The ferry ride back and forth across Lake Champlain was as lovely as I remembered as a kid.

We went bowling and in a couple games the high score was 88, which didn't matter because we had fun, but amusing since both DH and son have bowled 300 games and generally are in the 200s. Excuses like tennis elbow and hernia surgery, house balls and shoes, and more.

Son and GF live in a very red part of NY so they were overwhelmingly happy with the lack of Trump flags. Son is also a devoted Bernie Bro so he liked being in that area. He even posted a picture of bathroom labels with the following comment which pretty much summed up his feelings. I am sure I have ever seen so many Pride and BLM flags all over the place.

Vermont hits different. Gender neutral bathrooms, pride flags everywhere, black kids and white kids playin together in the fields, and my god is the cheese good.

In recovery mode today relaxing and doing not much of anything.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I really need to get a colonoscopy and I've been putting that off but I know I shouldn't and that is on my list of things to deal with.

FWIW, I'm average risk or whatever, and they had me start with a colaguard-type test, where I just had to collect a sample, not do the whole colonoscopy. So that was nice for me!

I do encourage all the cancer screenings and going to the doctor regularly, because today was the celebration of life event for my aunt who died of cancer, and last night I made dinner for a woman from church who just had a lumpectomy on Thursday, so.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

We went to the County Fair today(it was the last day). Mostly ok, except Mr. S had a meltdown when we told him we were not going to play any of the carnival games and another mini meltdown when we said we were not buying him another trinket, as we had already bought him a toy dog. See a pattern? Yeah, it's annoying having to deal with a child who doesn't understand that we can't buy him everything he wants...

Welp. Matthew's mom came to me asking for a thermometer because she had the chills and she wanted to do a Covid test.

Doing it wasn't easy because she did want to put the swab in her nose and pulled it out a few times before she finished.

It came back positive. So now M and I are doing the tests. And tomorrow we will do it again. So...this isn't fun right now. Esp since she will get bored staying in her room.

And today she went over and visited her daughter and grandson and his gf and her great grandbaby.

I made it home! Left at noon, got to Portland, found street parking two blocks from the stadium, spent six hours watching soccer (thankfully the seats came with free water and soda!), only got one autograph, and drove home and got home by 1:45am! Whew.
