I just got a quote for reupholstering one of the couches and it is stupid expensive. Guess we’re lining with these for a while longer.
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Timelies all!
I am well overdue for a mammogram. I keep meaning to make an appointment with my GYN, but I've been putting it off.(As well as finding a new PCP)
...make an appointment...finding a new PCP.
Do it.
Putting that off is where I went wrong, and is why my cancer wasn't discovered until it was already stage IV.
I’m trying to learn my lesson in that. I had a clean mammogram recently (yay!) though it did require a follow up ultrasound and I stalled and dithered and really shouldn’t have.
Good reminder dcp.
The one I’ve been putting off is an eye exam. I paid for the vision insurance this year so I need to go get one and use the benefit!!

I got a referral from Planned Parenthood about a month ago but you leave a message and they, in theory, call you back. They did not call me back and I was not calling them back and leaving more messages.
Instead I asked my NP for the referral instead when we did a follow-up on bloodwork and an x-ray yesterday morning. The scheduler called me yesterday afternoon and the mammogram was done by 10:30 this morning about 24 hours after I asked for the referral.
Make the calls. I am the master at procrastination and I did it! But if they have a system where the scheduler calls you, even better.
Just make the calls. Early cancer screenings work best when we get them done early.
With all of that, I need to make a dermatology appt for a specific look at a few spots and a general 'pale body in the desert' check out. That should be the end of the (should be) annual things.
Next we keep working on the broken stuff. Good times.
Go Cass with the stuff-doing and the not procrastinating!
I'm happy to report that we are once again a functional two-pig household; the animal shelter seemed positive they could find a happy, non-murderous home for Pickles and that she'd be fine, and now we have Gimlet-who-is-now-Ringo, and Prubs is bopping around the cage and vocalizing and being active and cheerful and acting like a brisk young woman of three instead of a crone of five. We're all incredibly relieved. And now we're about to get a couch, and the rest of the windows are for-real on their way and may be in by September! I just won't know what to do with myself, with glass windows and a couch and happy guinea pigs who just go out every day and refuse to choose violence.
And an eleventh grader. Holy crap we have an eleventh grader in the house, a diligent AP-homework-doing fussing-over-lonely-classmates functional-romantic-relationship-having eleventh grader who feels like possibly the most adult human in the house.
It’s good to see your post, Epic. I’m glad the news from your doctor is good, and I wish your work system was better.
Aw, that’s a lot of good news, JZ! I love to read it!
JZ, that's all wonderful news!
The calendar between now and the beginning of the school year is so filled with social obligations. It's somewhat overwhelming.
