Seems like there's a lot going on, but nothing immediate. I've been put in the lead role in a new project at work and it seems to be going well so far even though I've not felt well the past couple of weeks and have been well under 100% at work. It leads to that weird disconnect when I'll feeling like I'm not doing my best work, but the people at work seem perfectly happy with what I'm getting done. I'm also getting contacted by a lot of recruiters lately, I'm not sure if that means anything about the economy in general but it makes the tech sector seem strong. Nothing I'm really considering though, though I'll probably talk with a couple of them. I even have a Google recruiter reaching out to me which I have ambivalent feelings about. I didn't get the best impression of Google when they bought Motorola Mobility while I was working there. Meanwhile, I decided to order a Ford Maverick only to have Ford promptly move the date for taking orders back from August to mid-September, so I'll have to wait for then and then wait for much longer to actually get one. My wife and I have also decided to move to Minnesota for climate and political reasons, but that is still a couple of years off. Maybe the real estate market won't be so crazy then. My daughter and her husband have been trying to buy a house, but houses keep selling before they can even see get a chance to see them so they haven't had any luck yet.

Our wings are not tired.

Your skills are absolutely in demand, Gud. For good reason! And yes, the real estate market is still nuts. The cute house I wanted to look at with the kids today went under contract yesterday.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I swear someone did some curse around my being.

A/C was out at work when I got in and my office was 85 when I arrived.

People were sent home. I can’t work from home due to not power and I have things due today, I moved to basement with my summer youth worker. Also moved an older worker who has no internet at home.

Now A/C is back up and I’ve moved us all back up to our desks.

I await the frogs and/or locusts.

Good grief! I hope your home power is back by the time you get home today.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Yikes, msbelle. I'm sorry the universe appears to be against you.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Wow, msbelle! I am hoping you can get the frogs on your side, somehow. Seems only fair.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh man! If it's not one thing, it's another.

I just wrote myself a note that says "Evil, Star Trek." I signed up for Paramount+ for Drag Race and keep forgetting to watch other stuff on there.

Yikes. That’s a lot going on right now.

I’m sitting in Seattle waiting on my connecting flight to Minneapolis.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Sorry for all the weather-related trouble, msbelle.

Power was back home by the time we got home. Granted, that wasn’t until after 9, since Mr. S had a meltdown as we were leaving the restaurant and the trip home had many stops and starts. I am so tired of getting spit on, punched and having my hair pulled because he gets mad.
