sherly sorry Mr S is having trouble sleeping again.
t I think showing up and doing some work is the best you can do some days. I know I have co workers who show up and don't do anything. A week or so ago the new assistant manager said if she came around and saw people standing there or if one of their metrics was too low (it's an easy one to get and there are some repeat offenders who don't even try) she as going to pull them off the registers and find them work to do. I wish more of the managers would do that.
I also wish our store would do something about the clearance. We keep having 15% off clearance but it's not enough. They need to do a huge In Store only (so we don't have to pull things for shipping) Clearance blow out and (so we don't have to move things around or re sticker things) just make all clearance a really low price. Except for designer brands do -- all fashion jewelry $1.99, , all mens and womens shoes and adult clothes $3.99, all kids clothes $2.99, etc., Sure they will be losing money on some stuff but they are losing it anyway becuase stuff is sitting there and not selling and we can't find things or properly merchandise the store because there is so much clearance. And whoever is in charge of buying needs to do a massive audit or whatever you would call it to find out which brands end up with the most clearance and which get returned the most and then drop those brands if possible. At least phase them out and stop sending us stuff that doesn't sell.
Sorry... I've doing more of my actual job in picking and processing and it's been hard to pick because we are understaffed and we have so much stuff. Plus we have too many people on registers who think that it's important for them to just stand there. Of course customers will walk by a register and not even look around to see if anyone is there to help them and get mad if you are like 3 feet away from the register...and then also complain about how the store looks. I got in the habit of telling customers that we also have to put clothes up and things like that so we are often away from the register but if you stop and stand there someone should come up.
work is going well though. My reduced schedule has been really helpful. I don't have to take break bc of the concussion stuff until the end of my 3 hours. I'm getting a lot more rest and showing up to work feeling more refreshed.
I kind of over did it a bit with processing and turning and moving because it's triggered some minor vertigo but not too much.
I've been able to do things like - get off work, run an errand and/or make dinner, Skype with Evander and not really need a nap just to lay down and rest some. Or just need a shorter nap.
