I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Sounds like health things are improving, askye. I hope they continue to do so.

Cherry clafoutis sounds like a delightful start to ones day.

Gut flora and the energy drain of being sick could both be feeding feelings of depression.

I just really don’t want to be working right now because I’m in a somewhat impossible position with my one project—I barely know anything about the project itself (I’ve been going through some of our systems and finding big big homes, it’s not been done right) and the other person on it is new too and the client is Not Happy. Ugh.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

There's a fire by our Fairfield office again, so I guess it's a good thing I'm in Vallejo, but it's in my way of getting home...well, a few more hours before that's really an obstacle.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Got to sleep at a more normal time last night(Mr. S fell asleep before 9!) but am still tired.

I'm glad the reduced hours are helping, askye.

Tom, I think that's a good hypothesis.

Sheryl, may you have another Mr. s asleep before 9p night.

-t, hope you get home swiftly and without incident.

Long day today for me! It started with water aerobics, which was super fun, and also... I'm a middle aged lady in a water aerobics class now. I... used to see them happening at various pools over my lifetime. Now I'm one of those ladies. Not a complaint; just an observation.

Thanks, JenP. Per Watch Duty the fire is out but there is still a lot of smoke. It sounds like I would have to detour through the next town over to get home, maybe I will go to a movie?

Also, I took an "Aqua Fit" class a few weeks ago and had the same observation about myself. I did like it but not enough to get myself to the gym at a set time like you have to do to take a class. Or get myself to the gym at all, honestly. But there were reasons for that. Now I'm just all - the times are more convenient at this other location but maybe I would rather do yoga but either one of those means higher fees and meanwhile I'm not doing anything even vaguely athletic....should do something

Our wings are not tired.

I really enjoy the aqua fit classes, but my gym seems to think only retired people take them because they are scheduled during my work day! Working out in a pool = more fun than in the sun or weight room.

Tired today. Took a nap mid day. Still going to the gym every morning at 6:30 with the hope that my energy will improve.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Just had a good friend from LA come out to visit for a few days which was AWESOME. Got to do vacationy things like go to a movie (first since 2019) and museums and eat at restaurants. She’s a wonderful person but has so much on her plate. She has two sons, who I’ve known since they were babies. The oldest is schizophrenic. He made it to college, but his illness popped up (as it does at that age) and he has been home the last couple of years. he is on meds and working driving an Uber, which is really good, but he has no friends and no interest in getting any. She is working so hard to accept this and to give him good parenting and support to have the best life he can, while realizing he may be living with her for the rest of her life. Very tough. They are both in therapy (as is his younger brother) which seems to be helping a lot.

I have a lot of acquaintances here in Michigan, but none of the kind of friends you can talk with about politics, serious personal problems, favorite desserts, which of Harry Styles or Rege Jean Page You’d jump first, morality, and favorite Playwright, all in the space of 20 minutes. I miss that.

Quick getting back up to snuff, Laura.

-t, choose movie!

I actually had enough fun doing the class that I didn't mind the whole rinse off and put on dry clothes in the locker room afterwards. (I find it annoying usually; I don't know what I think my alternatives are...

I am tired, and.i think I'll be asleep soon.

Thrive to spite them

Scrappy glad you had a good visit.

I hadn't been keeping up with Mom and her townhouse sale. The deal fell through because even though the house was sold as is they came up with a list of things they wanted done before they finalized the deal...and offered less AND wanted mom to pay $4k in closing costs. Mom countered with $5 k less than they offered (which was $20,000 over asking) and they balked and bailed.

In the mean time.mom had had to fix the foundation and they found mold and she had an abatement so she has to put it back on the market But one of the ppl who offered before is still interested.

It just sucks she's had to deal with it.
