Our wings are not tired

There were quite a few on ER. Mark Greene, Robert Romano, Greg Pratt, and Lucy Knight all come to mind.

Thrive to spite them

John Ritter died while he was on 8 Simple Rules --he and Katey Sagal played parents and Penny from Big Bang Theory was one of their kids. They wrote his character as dying in the show with the family dealing with it.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Love a quickly scheduled meeting in which our CEO announces that some part of our company was acquired/merged (he had a shitty connection, so I missed the details), and this is good news, it doesn't affect you at all, did I mention that it's good news? It's a bit doth protest too much.

I'm actually not worried because the product I'm on has been doing very well, the team is hiring, and also I'm the only tech writer.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Sorry, but it was, "Let's be careful out there". We watched this religiously at the time. Esterhaus's death was a real, huge shock, second only to Henry Blake's in M*A*S*H. The difference here being that it was actually the actor who died.

Yes! And the phrase was later immortalized in song on Cop Rock. [link]

Oooh! Hill Street Blues had a great "death." In its pilot one of two imperiled officers had died, but when the show was picked up the character had been so well received he pulled through. [link]

Then there's Roseanne I & II where they killed Dan Connor because John Goodman wanted to get going on his film career, resurrected him for the sequel, then killed Roseanne when she shot her mouth off and made the show The Connors... which harkens back to Valerie/Valerie's Family/The Hogan Family where Valerie Harper annoyed someone and was killed off. And, of course, Eight is Enough which was supposed to be about a big happy stable family and then Diana Hyland died, recasting her was deemed evil, and they made him a single dad with a girlfriend.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Sorry, but it was, "Let's be careful out there".

Oooh, that's right.

I was also a Hill Street fan, so I remember it as well.

I don't watch Grey's!

Oh yeah, with bonus John Travolta tragedy in that mix.

Why isn't everyone pelting me with JOY, dammit? - Zenkitty

I know I'm late to the game, but I wanna play anyway. I third Mr. Hooper on Sesame Street. Rizzoli & Isles' Detective Frost dying in a car accident offscreen because the actor (Lee Thompson Young) had committed suicide hit me hard at the time.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Something ate all the cherry tomatoes on our plant, ripe or otherwise. I guess that's what happens when you have a plant out in the open like that.
