Less than exciting, but productive day. Burned a whole bunch of construction trash. Cement bags and bits of lumber, along with pizza boxes and general box type trash. Sat outside with hose in hand for a couple hours or so just in case. I always soak the surrounding area and trees first. Fire pretty, but best in the confines of the fire pit.
Picked up some grass seed at the farm supply store. They have a pet washing station there! Two big tubs and drying stations. Thought that was cool. May bring Skinner along some time.
Heading to nephew's for pizza shortly. I have showered so no more physical labor for me. Crew put the roof on the porch today, so that was exciting.
We're back from the animal shelter where we just adopted Pickles a two year old guinea pig.
We brought her together with Prubs and they were busy vocalizing and Prubs wanted to groom her. But Pickles didn't like that and kind of attacked her. No blood was drawn so it might just be the usual assertion of dominance that pigs have to sort out. But poor Prubs! She was all welcoming and glad to have another pig, and Pickles (who is bigger than Prubs) just walloped her.
Hopefully when Pickles settles in and the pigs sort out their hierarchy it'll be okay.
Sweaty. Nothing like getting more of a view of your hoarder neighbor’s disorder to get you cleaning up and tossing out. Recycling was picked up Friday morning and my bin is almost full again. Also a bag of trash out. Lots of stuff put away including 2 bags of yard stuff taken from house to shelves in garage.
Timelies all!
The party went well. Of course Mr. S has had to open all the Lego sets and some other stuff and has been bouncing between things. Sigh...
I'm glad the party went well. I was all about following directions on the Lego sets, and of course the boys were, let's say, far more random.
I am ready for a break. Up and out to the gym at 6:25, then home and spread grass seed all along the side of the house where they dug stuff up. Watered. Now inside waiting for the sweat to stop dripping before drinking coffee and making breakfast.
Hmm. Slept away most of yesterday with a migraine that wouldn’t quit. But woke up refreshed at 7am today. Now to decide how to make today feel good…
Also trying to decide if I want to bail on a trip next weekend. Am supposed to drive a few hours to a resort on a lake and stay with friends to play in the water and on their boat. I’d thought we were camping, but apparently some folks are in cabins and rvs. Which, ok….but then I looked at the weather and it will be 108 during the day. I’m not sure I can hack that even with it being 70 at night and being on a boat/in a lake. But I feel bad bailing.
Today has taken a not great turn. While picking up trash after pool this morning a fly was biting me and I went to swat it and slipped on some gravel and then did this slow motion trying to regain balance trip run eventually fall. rolled to not land on wrists and banged back of head hard. Embarrassed. Annoyed. Got up and my hand came away from my head dripping in blood. So I walked back to pool for assistance. Then got woozy, so ems were called and now I’m at the hospital in observation.
Oh msbelle! Oh no! I’m glad you are getting checked out and I hope you aren’t badly hurt.
and now I’m at the hospital in observation.
Glad you are getting medical care but it stinks that you need to be observed. Hopefully you can be released all clear soon. Maybe with a little band-aid and icepack.
meara, 108 is a legit reason to bail. I live in the desert. I'm saying it's a legit reason. The cool nights sound lovely and being on the water is nice but 108 is really hot especially if you are not acclimated to it. After a migraine, I wouldn't recommend it but if you go, hydrate and keep your electrolytes up.
Pig sorting it out ~ma.
