At least I don't have Elon Musk talking about buying my company.
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Ugh. It’s all a nasty mess and they’re like “well we basically agree with you but we can’t make this person mad by saying no so we have to let him do it even though he’s already ducking up what we’ve approved him for before, and maybe if he fucks up THIS time we can say no NEXT time?” Ugh.
Oof. Families, y’all. I’m sorry you’re going through this David. And Cass. This year what with losing my dad but also continuing to build a relationship with my half-sisters (and their mom, which is maybe stranger) there r been a lot of looking back and filling in missing pieces. Even just from talking to my brother and sister - things we were present for different parts of, or at different ages, and interpreted differently.
Little of it quite as dramatic, or nearly as awful, thankfully. But some stuff to process.
Actually the worst of it, I think, is the guns. My dad and I had it out about him having a gun in a number of occasions, and he swore to my sister that he had sold it. (To me ge only ever even admitted to a BB gun after I found a bunch of bbs embedded in the deck.
Not so. You guys, I’ve found like 7 guns while going through his room. It feels like every time I open a bag or box there’s another one. And I hate them and I don’t know what to do with and I’m pissed as hell but also I’m gutted at how scared he must have been.
Ugh, meara. I'm sorry.
Oh, brenda. Oh, no. Hugs to you. I have seen news stories about various gun buy back programs that ultimately get them destroyed, but I don't know how to go about finding one when you have surprise guns to get rid of...
I tried googling that and within 5 minutes I was getting emails to my work email to buy assault weapons. So that was nice.
Dear lord. That's appalling.
I’m sure they’re worth a fair amount of money but I don’t want to sell them in any way that they remain in circulation. Especially not in fucking Wisconsin.
Maybe I can send them to Ukraine somehow? Otherwise I’ll just watch and wait for a buyback I guess. Ugh. In the meantime they’re filling up a shelf in the closet and I resent that!
Maybe try calling local police non-emergency line and asking them?
Yikes, y'all, that is A LOT of family drama to unpack. Best of luck to all of you.
I have heard of the sending to Ukraine thing happening but I have no idea how you'd do that either. Totally understand your resentment!
Here's a potential resource, and a buyback scheduled for August [link]
OK, I'm calling it a day, anyone emailing me after 4pm on Friday surely does not really expect a response.
