I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Hooray for Mac recovering and working and things not as bad as you feared!

Sounds like a good time to lay low

Our wings are not tired.

Shoulder~ma all round.

Good to hear things are better than anticipated with Mac.

Hanging at Albany airport with too many unmasked people.

Grrr to the unmasked. I heard a story on the radio while picking up lunch saying people are travelling at close to pre-pandemic levels but flights are being cancelled and delayed and everything is a mess, so I hope you aren't hit with any of that!

Apparently if you're enough of a power nerd, there is nothing that cannot be flowcharted.

I had to go to the dentist to re-fix the broken filling that he fixed 2 weeks ago (when I got my teeth cleaned last week, he looked at the repaired filling and said, "Eh, I don't love the way that looks on the side -- if you can come in next week, I'll make it right for you), and then he replaced an old filling on the opposite side, so my entire mouth is numb and it is freaky.

I have one more work thing to do and then I am going to enjoy my glorious hammock. I would have a tasty beverage while doing so, but I can't drink very neatly at this moment (see above, re: numb mouth). But that's okay. A book, some music (hooray for the bluetooth speaker), and the hammock is a fine way to end the workday.

Welp, we are moving to Vallejo. Not sure exactly how soon, but soon. Sigh.

They are talking about leasing out this office space to make money and that sounds super pie in the sky to me. There are empty spaces everywhere and this location has not much to recommend it if it isn't attached to your warehouse. But that discussion is above me.

Mm-hmm, that sounds lovely. Enjoy!

That's the 20 miles, I assume? Is there any way it's not going to make your commute worse?

No, it will definitely make my commute worse. It's only two days a week, though, and there is potential that the particular two days may change, which could be good (Tu/W instead of Tu/Th for example). The good side is that if I can manage to work my way up to actually biking 24 miles or whatever it is 4 times a week I'll be in pretty good shape! And I already know how to do the commute by bus and it's not terrible, although that is even more time out of my day but it is time I could probably spend watching Netflix on my phone or what have you. The cat will be pissed, although I don't know if she can tell the difference between me being gone for 1 hour or 8 hours as it is, so making it 9-10 hours may not really affect her, at least during the summertime.

I have identified an intriguing bar/pizza place (is pizza parlour still a term that is in use?) that is within a mile of the Vallejo office and a couple blocks from the transit center, I'm looking forward to giving that a try. And the potential to hop on the ferry and head into the city after work is always there, whether I actually do it or not. So it's not all bad.

But my short commute has always been a big selling point for this job and I'm not looking forward to paying a significant part of my budget more for gas or transit every month. And the number of times I have gotten to the office and realized I had to go home for something I forgot...won't really be able to do that anymore.
