Made it through the in-laws' visit.

Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Woo! Was wondering if you were going to need help with body disposal.
Good to know, Dana.
Sounds like a lovely day, Laura.
I hope your and ND's time in Montana was a delight.
I had a great dinner with some friends last night -- we all used to work in a law firm together and hang out as regular friends, too, in the early nineties. One of them was a newly minted lawyer at the time, and the two others eventually decided to do the same.
We started a tradition of going out to dinner for our birthdays way back then, would do teas, and we had a fun holiday shopping day thing we did, all kinds of things. We just really got along so well, and we LASTED. Quite amazing when I think about it.
There was probably a ten year lag where we more or less fell out of touch (and I wasn't in the area), but we got the band back together when I moved back to VA in 2018, and it's like old times, if less frequent. A little challenging during hospitalization and pandemic, but we were all there when the tides rolled back. Good friends, man. The universe has been exceedingly generous to me in that regard, and that's huge.
Today is lounging, reading, a little cleaning. We might get ice ream out later.

That's so great! I've had some of that with reconnecting with college friends through my alumni group. New friendships are wonderful, but renewed friendships are also fantastic with extra years of depth.
Good friends, man.
Indeed! It's wonderful that you have been able to stay connected.
Timelies all!
Just got back from following Mr. S around as he rode his bike. It's a bit hot out there, and I am quite sweaty.
I have been pressure washing years of grunge off the deck (which is also the front porch). It was black and dark green with mold and I-don’t-know-what-all and is now looking like actual wood. Love using the pressure washer, which is loud and powerful and makes all the yuck disappear.
I actually like watching pressure washing videos on YouTube to chill out sometimes, so it’s extra fun doing it myself.

I am here to remind people that there's a powerwashing simulator you can play called...wait for it...PowerWash Simulator.
Edit: And it's coming out of beta on July 14, when the price will go up.
I wanted to do something.. but I have mostly felt like sleeping today. I think that is kind of normal considering. I've been frustrated because I've been to tired or feeling to fuzzy headed to do anything creative but I finally did a little bit today.
Had an argument about taking the trash to the road. I said I'd do it and I have been but my feeling is it's better to wait until closer to the end of the night and make sure it's all in the bins and then take them to the road. M's mom feels like they should be out ...I don't know know when, maybe before she gets back from church? So I was going to do it but she did before I could and kind of made an issue out of it. I guess I should just take it out earlier but I'm pretty sure she'd find something to complain about anyway. next week I may get up and take the trash out at like 6 am and see what she ends up saying.
Mom was supposed to come down last week , but she wasn't feeling well. Then today she said she wasn't feeling great (different reason). I have Wed off so M and I are going to go up and see her.
I still haven't found my worker's comp check from last week so I have to email the adjuster dude and tell him that there is another check I've misplaced/threw away. ... I think I accidentally threw it out instead of hte junk mail last tuesday. This week I'm going to deposit it immediately. I use my phone app so I don't have any excuse not to do it right away.
My aunt's wake was 2-5 yesterday and today, so that was most of my weekend. A nice Zoom with old friends last night, out to dinner with fam both nights. I can only imagine how exhausted my aunt (who's wife died) is tonight.
