Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
the leftover yard sale stuff is GONE! yay! I have my porch back. I even added to it yesterday evening, with a few more items from the house and on Wednesday I pushed the neighbor with hoarding tendencies to let go of some things in her garage.
STUFF GONE. Thank you Vietnam Veterans.
Timelies all!
Happy Birthday Cass!
Gary spoke to the doctors yesterday. They started Mr. S on the new drug and he seemed to improve his behavior on it. They want to keep him there through the weekend, possibly sending him home Monday or Tuesday. Which means that when Gary goes to Florida tomorrow, I won't be with him. Yet another set of vacation days that won't be used for going anywhere. (I'm also a bit apprehensive of having to wrangle Mr. S on my own. Gary's going to come back Tuesday night instead of Wednesday afternoon, and we have a friend who says she can come help out, but still...)
I hope you are able to get some renewing rest this weekend, Sheryl.
Bravo to the productive people. Running on empty today. I didn't get a lot of sleep, but felt energized after my early morning workout. Did some house chores then drove to town where my son lives (about 45 mins away) and had lunch with him and GF, and gave them some stuff. Then picked up my grocery order I did online to get while in that city. By the time I got home I hit the couch and took a nap! Had leftover popcorn from the theater last night and an orange for dinner. Now I want to nap again.
Happy Birthday Cass!!
I'm starting back to work Monday, working 10 to 2 through Friday. I texted the case worker about transportation and she responded to something else but not that. I'm going to press again tomorrow.
I drove yesterday and today and it was...hard to concentrate and once I got to the grocery store today I was a lot more fuzzy headed and it made everything harder. M's mom went with me (which ...never again. We were barely in the store and she was already fussing about not forgetting milk or the price of things and putting things down and then putting them back and then getting other stuff).
Anyway me driving right now isn't a good idea. So that is still something I have to push about .
Sheryl I hope that the medicine does help Mr S and yall can find therapy or support to help him with emotional regulation
Happy birthdays!
Jen, congrats to you and DH!
Sheryl, may the drug help enough so that it'll be a lot easier for Mr. S. and for you until Gary is back. I'm sorry about not going to Florida. You deserve rest, too.
Epic - thank you for the update! Continued health~ma, and no large side-effects ~ma.
Here, as you know, there was a mini F2F with Jess and Nilly in Tel Aviv and in Jerusalem. It was really, really, really wonderful to see them both (Nilly and I tried - and failed - to see one another for over four years. Schedules' conflict, and then COVID, and then schedules, and then COVID again). I'm hoping to have the opportunity to meet more of you pixel people in person. Oh, and Jess, let me know how that tahini is!
I will also accept any getawesomenewworkthatpaysnice~ma and easyfindinganewapartment~ma you have to offer. I'm very stressed about these, as I'm doing these two simultaneously.
All the ~ma, Shir. It was more than heartwarming to see you with Jess and Nilly.
Hey, y’all. Just got caught up here and am SO happy to be back. Haven’t been around due to our move—our new house needed lots of renovations. That took several intense months. Then, two weeks before we were going to move in, a pipe burst and flooded the front house and basement, which we had just had a new floor put in. 50 thousand dollars worth of damage. Luckily, insurance paid for everything and we moved in a few months ago. The. I got Covid. Also, the repairs weren’t fully done until last week, so we’ve had to put off setting up J’s office and a couple of other rooms.
However, we’re almost all settled in and I love the house, the neighborhood and the sweet little town we have moved to. It’s called Dexter, on a river and has a lovely downtown which was built in the late 1800s and we can walk to.
Can’t wait to catch up with all of you.
Scrappy!

So good to see you. I am just embarking on the summer o' renovation and the biggest obstacle so far is getting a return call. Sigh. I fear things will just get livable here in time for me to return to Florida.
So good to see you Scrappy!
So far a productive day. Breaking for lunch now. We made a weekend adjustment, still did our half hour at the gym, but went at 7:30 instead of the weekday 6:30. 7 days in a row! Got home and emptied the fridge and freezer so I could move it to another spot in the kitchen then moved a shelving unit into the new space. That was quite the workout! I brought a dolly in to move it, but no way that would happen, so I moved the rugs and pushed it, then tilted it to put the rugs back. Next is moving the dishes and cups and such to the shelving unit and my spices and pantry type stuff into the cabinets. Have to make better use of the space. It will be better when the kitchen is actually renovated, but that could take a while since it isn't first on the list.
