Thrive to spite them

Happy Birthday Cass!!

I'm starting back to work Monday, working 10 to 2 through Friday. I texted the case worker about transportation and she responded to something else but not that. I'm going to press again tomorrow.

I drove yesterday and today and it was...hard to concentrate and once I got to the grocery store today I was a lot more fuzzy headed and it made everything harder. M's mom went with me (which ...never again. We were barely in the store and she was already fussing about not forgetting milk or the price of things and putting things down and then putting them back and then getting other stuff).

Anyway me driving right now isn't a good idea. So that is still something I have to push about .

Sheryl I hope that the medicine does help Mr S and yall can find therapy or support to help him with emotional regulation

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Happy birthdays!

Jen, congrats to you and DH!

Sheryl, may the drug help enough so that it'll be a lot easier for Mr. S. and for you until Gary is back. I'm sorry about not going to Florida. You deserve rest, too.

Epic - thank you for the update! Continued health~ma, and no large side-effects ~ma.

Here, as you know, there was a mini F2F with Jess and Nilly in Tel Aviv and in Jerusalem. It was really, really, really wonderful to see them both (Nilly and I tried - and failed - to see one another for over four years. Schedules' conflict, and then COVID, and then schedules, and then COVID again). I'm hoping to have the opportunity to meet more of you pixel people in person. Oh, and Jess, let me know how that tahini is!

I will also accept any getawesomenewworkthatpaysnice~ma and easyfindinganewapartment~ma you have to offer. I'm very stressed about these, as I'm doing these two simultaneously.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Hey, y’all. Just got caught up here and am SO happy to be back. Haven’t been around due to our move—our new house needed lots of renovations. That took several intense months. Then, two weeks before we were going to move in, a pipe burst and flooded the front house and basement, which we had just had a new floor put in. 50 thousand dollars worth of damage. Luckily, insurance paid for everything and we moved in a few months ago. The. I got Covid. Also, the repairs weren’t fully done until last week, so we’ve had to put off setting up J’s office and a couple of other rooms.

However, we’re almost all settled in and I love the house, the neighborhood and the sweet little town we have moved to. It’s called Dexter, on a river and has a lovely downtown which was built in the late 1800s and we can walk to.

Can’t wait to catch up with all of you.

Scrappy! tacklehug So good to see you. I am just embarking on the summer o' renovation and the biggest obstacle so far is getting a return call. Sigh. I fear things will just get livable here in time for me to return to Florida.

Our wings are not tired.

So far a productive day. Breaking for lunch now. We made a weekend adjustment, still did our half hour at the gym, but went at 7:30 instead of the weekday 6:30. 7 days in a row! Got home and emptied the fridge and freezer so I could move it to another spot in the kitchen then moved a shelving unit into the new space. That was quite the workout! I brought a dolly in to move it, but no way that would happen, so I moved the rugs and pushed it, then tilted it to put the rugs back. Next is moving the dishes and cups and such to the shelving unit and my spices and pantry type stuff into the cabinets. Have to make better use of the space. It will be better when the kitchen is actually renovated, but that could take a while since it isn't first on the list.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Separately- I am back from Nashville and reunited with Petunia!

It was not a disaster until it was…

Wednesday was travel with two of us who don’t travel paired with a traveler. We got there, to our hotels, met up on Broadway and then I had to peace out because it was loud, I was hot and hungry and cranky, so I had to go back to the hotel to shower and then go to the public library, which was right behind my hotel. We also had a nice dinner, but at 8:15! So late for me! The public library was awesome. I did not know that Nashville, like Rochester had a large women’s suffrage movement. They had a great exhibit at the library

Thursday was great! The conference was very theatrical, the stuff announced and sessions were great. We were originally overwhelmed by the party and 3,400, but ended up closing the place down and dancing until 10 pm :). They planned it well where the dance party basically started at 5 pm so we could conference at 8 am fairly refreshed. Also, we just waited out in the hall until it was down to a manageable amount of people. There were drone operated sharks around the ceiling, but I couldn’t get to the tech people, which is what I wanted to do.

Friday started out great- I learned a lot - but then three of us had our flights home cancelled and it was a crazy stressful scramble between 11 and 1 that got us all home by midnight. It involved two travel agents, people panic paying for their own flights home, me crying in front of work people etc.

Then the Uber from the airport in Rochester which is normally $20 was $97!!!! So I waited until it went down to $50 and then got home. Petunia apparently did not miss me. :(. I expected to be greeted at the door!

I also had to be patted down every time I went throughsecurity because I have a metal tag in my breast from a negative biopsy which pings. Also, apparently bike shorts under a dress also pings????
