A friend invited me over for dinner and watching some tv and showed me the first ep of OFMD, and also I found out there are FIVE seasons of repair shop on discovery and I may have to get it for a month just to watch them. I’m still really mad at myself for scraping up the side of my car in the stupid parking lot though.
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Throwing this out there on the chance someone might be interested in a getaway.
I’m traveling June 25-28 and Oct 5-11. If anyone is interested in house and dog sitting, I can offer a/c, wifi, Netflix, Hulu, laundry, a full fridge, full pantry, semi-stocked bar, deck with sunshade and grill. And use of my car if interested. Not a resort by any means, but a pretty cheap vacation if you don’t mind walking the dogs once a day, letting them out 2-3 more times, feeding twice a day and giving 2 insulin shots per day.
Hit me up if interested. And I could help cover travel costs.
Shoot, those dates don't work for me. Too bad since I am in a mood to travel for whimsical reasons.
Gonna be a scorcher today. I was tempted to go work in the office where it is air conditioned but ultimately chose to stay home and work in shorts and a sports bra with a fan pointed at me (after getting an affogato for breakfast, yum!). Actually working does not appeal at all, unfortunately.
I can understand work not appealing. I'm going through a bit of a burn-out phase so I've self-imposed a moratorium on doing side-project coding. I'll be taking a vacation on the week of the 4th, so that should help as well I'm hoping.
Been thinking about about replacing my car especially after discovering that the trade in value is basically the same as what I paid for it over two years ago. I've become interested in the Chevy Bolt EUV since GM announced it would be reducing the price by $6300 for the 2023 model. The Bolt's tech isn't what it once was, but that price reduction really helps the affordability. However, I want to wait and see if EV tax credits come back for GM and Tesla (Toyota and Ford are due to run out before long as well). There's talk of it, but I'm not real hopeful. Still thinking about a Ford Maverick too, but it's August before orders open up again and as useful as a little hybrid pickup would be, I like the idea of going electric instead. Kia Niro plug-in hybrid also sounds good, but full electric would mean be there would be less to maintain though it would make most of my trips doable without gas.

Same! We still have the 2000 Echo, because it doesn't get a lot of use since I work from home, but it's really at the point where it doesn't make sense financially to continue to make repairs. (My joke is that, since the gas tank is full, 90% of the car's current value is from the full gas tank.)

Tim's work is 11 miles away, and he really wants something electric for that commute. We would keep the Corolla (which is almost 10 years old now and has 103,000 miles on it) as the second car.
I was behind a Chevy Bolt at a stoplight the other day and was struck by what a cute car it was.

EtA woes, my quickedit didn't work. You all know what I mean, I think.
Ooh s little electric car would be nice for city living. And now that we have a garage we’d have a place to plug it in.
At 7:30 thus morning I began the final cleanup for the kitchen and nerdhole and was just finishing at 9:15 for the floor guys to arrive.
It only took half an hour to rip out the old floor.
Tired and sweaty start to the day I but I was able to take a shower at the house. And Matilda is on her new fancy bed watch How To Train Your Dragon on her laptop.
But basically we have survived hell week.
Gonna be a scorcher today.
I've elected to work from the office at least part of the day because they're shutting off the water in my building, which I assume is due to the apartment next door being renovated going by the incredibly loud construction noises.
But basically we have survived hell week.
Right on!
Go surviving and thriving!
Also go Gud and a planned vacation! I need to plan something…
