Feels like we're in a Steeplechase where I can see the next obstacle arising and we have to clear it and then tackle the one after that.
Obstacle 1: Monday had to finish clearing out all the media (CDs, DVDs, LPs) from wall shelving so it could be taken down on Tuesday. Success!
Obstacle 2: Need to clear out nerdhole and kitchen table because movers are coming tomorrow to take boxes and furniture over. Status: Unfinished!
Obstacle 3: Occupy new house all day tomorrow as three scheduled events happen: 1) movers bringing stuff over; 2) Mattresses being delivered; 3) Cable/WiFi gets hooked up.
Obstacle 4: Finish clearing out kitchen and nerdhole in current apartment Thursday night because floor guy comes in on Friday morning to put in new linoleum.
It's a freakin' blur!
But new floor should be finished within three days after which Emmett & Kalena can move over. So sometime by the middle of next week we should all be switched, and even the window restoration (which started in April) should be done. We shall see!
That all sounds very exciting and exhausting, Hec!! But soon it’ll all be over!!
Anyone have suggestions of what I should put for goals, for work? They have some template language but I’m supposed to add stuff. I am uninspired.
Sheryl, I am so sorry. I hope you and Gary can get some rest while S is in hospital.
E was in a hospital twice. Once for 10 days.
He was in weekly therapy and then once or twice appts with pediatric psychiatrists after the first hospitalization and it was instrumental, I think, in regulating his behaviors and getting him the tools he needed to learn.
If there is a large foster care or adoption agency near you, I would reach out to them as resources for therapy options.
Timelies all!
Hanging in there as best as I can.
Hey Sheryl, I'm sure it has been a very tough day for you. Have you had any reports from the hospital?
Sheryl you are not a failure as a mom-- you are doing everything you can for your son and I hope that the inpatient time is good for him and once he is out that there will be a good follow up plan and you'll find a good therapist that will help him.
Hec that is a lot but it's so amazing to see all the progress.
The kitten is growing on me.
I actually spent a few days with Mom. Tomorrow she's driving to VA to spend the weekend and see E. Monday he gets his braces off (well he has top teeth only braces) then Tues they drive back to NC, Wed he is going to summer camp here. M and I are driving to Mom's Tuesday to get some brief E time and also see him off to camp on Wed. Mom's knees are really bothering her and the camp is going to let family walk campers to their cabins & meet tehir counselors this year (they didn't last year). So M & I are going to do that since Mom can't make the walk. M is super excited.
We will probably get Mexican so E can see the owner of the restaurant that likes him and always asks after, play some Monopoly or Catan, then have breakfast in the morning at Mom's regular place so E can see the other people who always ask after him.
Then next Thursday is my birthday. Next Wed is my appointment with the neurologist to go over my FCE results. The case worker will be apart of that. She called me and verified the work phone numbre (she had it wrong) bc she was trying to find out about light duty options. So that's all going well. I assume I'll be back to work very very soon.
Tomorrow I have an ultrasound follow up from my mammogram.
I don't know much, but Gary says the hospital has spoken with Mr. S's psychiatrist and they're trying to figure out adjustments to his meds. Also, Gary got a phone call from Mr. S who told him to tell his stuffed animals that he misses them. (and to tell me he loves me)
Oh, that is lovely, Sheryl. He feels your love and knows you are trying to help him navigate this life.
