What? I'm not allowed to hit people? Wesley: Not people capable of genocide. Angel: Those are exactly the types of people I should be allowed to hit!

Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Meanwhile, tomorrow is a federal holiday, but I still have to go in to work. Only until 1(I get in around 8 am), but still...

BINGO!

(A couple years ago I was in charge of the support functions for a conference with multiple govt and military speakers, so I put Bullshit Bingo cards (renamed Bureaucracy Bingo) on the backs of all the programs to give people something to do during the speeches.)

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Do you still have the list of terms?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I think today was supposed to be a 6 hours day for me. That's obviously happening, but only 8 hours is kind of a treat lately, so I'll take it.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

ugh new report from my parents' place. Currently 16 staff out positive. 4 residents' tests from Monday are positive. They have cancelled housekeeping in the apartments for the time being.

Somewhere, I will look for it. It was the usuals: leverage, synergy, center of excellence, etc. There were a few that turn out to be fairly unique to this demographic ("let's circle the wagons" misused to mean "let's get together and coordinate on that;" "the camel's nose under the tent;" "azimuth check;" and "tour d' horizon;" "close to the flagpole") but most were business drivel (KPIs, playbook, dodged a bullet).

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My favorite jargon joke is renaming silos "cylinders of excellence."

Ooof. Continued good thoughts.

I’ve never heard those last few starting with the camels nose. What do those even mean?

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Camel's nose is a variation on "thin end of the wedge."

I can't remember the source, but I seem to recall hearing about this phrase used in all earnestness: "We must strategize our conformity."
