I ended up working for like half an hour and then laying down and taking a nap for three hours. I’m doing some more semi-urgent work but may lay down after that, too. My head doesn’t really hurt but I feel foggy. This better not be covid.
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Medical day today. Blood draw for lab tests first thing this morning, then injection of radiotracer, then CT scan, then three-hour wait for the radiotracer to soak in, then bone scan, then hormone suppression injection and bone-strengthening injection. Now I'm waiting for my consult with the oncologist to go over all the results.
No contrast for the CT scan this time -- there is a shortage because of difficulty getting it produced and/or shipped out of Shanghai (China). GE Health is reportedly trying to ramp up production in Cork (Ireland), but the forecast is that the shortage will last a couple more months.
The results of all the tests and scans are already posted to the patient portal (MyChart). From what I can see, it all looks good, no changes. No news is good news.
That sounds promising, dcp. Excellent.
I'm at a convention for work. It's local so we just have to drop in. But no one! Is wearing! a mask!
Timelies all!
Sounds like good news, dcp.
Had some major thunderstorms here last night.
I went to early vote in the primaries so I can help pick which Democrats will be beaten by 2-1 in my state come November. Also, to pick up cat food and check up on Little Meg, who today for the first time didn't growl at the vet tech entering the cat ward!

Do you vote for the ones you like since you don’t have to worry about electability? Or against them, in the hope of not making them suffer through the whole election cycle?
I took today off to burn some use it or lose it time. I walked around some parks, watched some movies on Netflix, read some books. Now I’m listening to it rain with a cat on my lap. It doesn’t suck.
I hope your toes aren’t too bruised, shrift. And I hope the sunburn isn’t too bad, meara.
Y'all, I just spent one zillion dollars at the vet to learn there is nothing wrong with my cat, So that's nice. Now I have to give him expensive food and see if that stops the puking.

I usually just vote for whomever I think will do the best job. I don't know that I allow electability to influence my vote, though I'm fine with being pragmatic about the lesser evil in the general election if I'm not fond of either option.

I know the feeling. Not looking forward to November with inflation and high gas prices I think it will be bloodbath for the Dems. A decade ago, it would be like, well that sucks for now but maybe the next election cycle goes better, now I'm a lot more worried about the prospect of going into a presidential election with the Republicans in control of the house and senate. Also not looking forward to two years of nothing happening except investigations of the Biden administration.
