I always thought the name Serenity had a vaguely funereal sound to it.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I’ve posted a few pictures of Nana and Papa on Twitter. Nana died nearly 30 years ago. I’m not posting them on Facebook right now because relatives can be exhausting.

Our wings are not tired

Catching up a bit. So many of us are in the midst of adulting. Kind thoughts to all of you.

I’ve also been struggling. I’ve been mostly able to gather enough spoons to get through the days, but nothing really beyond that. Working on navigating getting some mental health support, but as so many of you know that is also profoundly exhausting with each step of the process having another group of gate keepers before hopefully getting to some real help.

Sending out all the vibes of support and strength - there's a lot going on here for everyone.

Hugs, ND. I hope things start feeling better soon.

I’m trying to decide if I want to go dancing tonight. I mean, I do. But not masked. But I don’t want to go unmasked dancing and catch covid either. Ugh. Decisions.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I miss Sam Sanders in my ear holes. When is he getting airtime with Vox? I am somehow to old to Twitter, so this may be discussed there.

Our wings are not tired.

Spoon~ma, Drew!

Rant ahead. Hanging out at my MIL's, which tries my patience despite her being a wonderful person. She has health issues and has nothing but excuses for not dealing with them. She's too old, that is just the way it is. She doesn't want to take any pills as they damage the kidneys. You name the excuse and she has it. So my patience is being tried. I came over earlier because she was dizzy and thought she might pass out. She has Chron's (refuses to treat) and I am pretty sure she is anemic so I went and picked up some liver and onions (yuck!) and a sweet potato, and she seems to be feeling better. Not that it worked instantly, but I think just eating something good. Her BP was only 105/58, but she sits in her recliner 16 hours a day and doesn't do anything so just getting weaker.

End rant.

I went to bed at 830 last night (though I didn’t go to sleep until about 9pm) and slept until almost 7 this morning. No idea why I was so tired! But needless to say I did not go dancing.

Tonight I am supposed to go to a “disco” themed event but realize I barely have any normal clothes that fit me, forget costume clothes! Ugh. I took a walk with the dog and a friend earlier and the weather is lovely here. I spent the last two hours ish cleaning my living room. Not really “cleaning” but “putting things away and moving them” and “throwing out a bunch of stuff” making room for a friend who is coming to stay for a while, tomorrow. It’s been over a year since I had a roommate and I’ve spread out!! Now I’m exhausted and still have no idea what to wear. Sigh.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Tim had to go in to work today (his company has some government contracts, and those deadlines can never be pushed back, so sometimes they work on Saturday), so I ran errands and got groceries, and now I'm trying to decide between fancy ramen and karaage chicken vs sushi for dinner. I think ramen & chicken are going to win because they're closer.

[edit] Ramen & karaage chicken won. Have to go pick it up in 10 minutes.

Thrive to spite them

I went to the thrift store and got a shelf for the bedroom (actually I think it may have been some kind of standing desk..) to use instead of a dresser, since if I can't see it, things don't exist and I got a new computer chair that has a leaning issue that I didn't notice when I tried it out. But they were 40% off at the thrift store so that was a nice deal.

And then there was arts fair thing on main street and so I walked around and looked at things and the used book store was having a sale but I didn't go. I don't need to drag home things I'm not going to read or use and I've been doing that too much.

I made my first foray into book binding and bound together a little envelope junk journal thing. I messed up one hole and it wasn't on the spine and then kind of forgot what I should do and winged it instead of looking at youtube videos. I think it came out ok.

That's so cool -- I'd love to try that!
