Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Ugh. Mr. S woke me up at 6:20 for no reason, and would not let me get any rest-asking for this , that and the other thing. We eventually got his meds in him. He has spent most of the day asleep on the computer room couch. Of course I worry that he won't go to sleep tonight.

Meanwhile, I've been to the supermarket, gotten lunch for all of us and am doing laundry. I'm sooo tired, and I need a break.

It’s nice to see your pixels here, Nanita! I’ve started the same couch to 5k training I did, um, 8 years ago, again. I’m finding it easier to make myself go to the gym and use the treadmill than just run around the neighborhood which is counterintuitive but I’m rolling with it. And if I go 25 times a quarter I can get reimbursed for nearly all my fees by my company, so that’s some good motivation.

I'm at the salon. I managed to get a few things done before I left and spent some time on the bus making calendar blocks for other things I want to check off my list. Then I will reward myself with queer pirates.

shrift, I miss being part of your movie-going rotation!

So do I! I haven't been in approximately a million years.

Back in WX days when we would read every post.

Yeah, as Nanita said it’s hard to copy and paste on iPad/iPhone instead of laptop. But I do read every post (at least in Natter) though it helps that it’s slowed down around here.

I miss being in shape but somehow the getting in shape is not appealing….

Ooh, both of those things are cool, -t. Y Remembering your doing that eight years ago is what inspired me to give it a try last Fall. I need to re-engage with it.

What's promoting your nice, java? New company or new post within same company? Or something totally different?

Hope you can find some rest time, Sheryl.

Nice, shrift. I need to put blocks on my calendar, but I've been resisting that discipline lately. It's not serving me well to resist it. What did you decide for hair?

Our wings are not tired.

JenP, I’m mainly moving to where I have a large circle of friends all within an hour (with about half of them within 20 min!). Chappaqua and immediate surroundings are really all about families who are here for the schools. Between Covid isolation, and being a single, childfree, working person, I find myself on the other side of Covid without anymore friends than I have locally than I did at the beginning! But I’ve got bunches of friends in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts, and it’s gorgeous on the seacoast. And I still get to see the Alters because I’ve got to be onsite fairly regularly still. So I’ll have the best of all worlds, I’m hoping.

Currently I’m sitting in the glorious sun on my little Chappaqua porch awaiting the arrival of msbelle! I have tickets to Jason Isbell tomorrow night and she’s my date.

I need the calendar blocks since I've been a hot mess because of returning to office.

shrift, I'm glad you're not commuting down to Mtn View anymore.

Thanks, Karl! It's a much easier commute downtown than down the peninsula.

What did you decide for hair?

Probably an undercut. I think clippers are in my near future.

Congrats on the commute change, shrift! I’m glad to hear it is an improvement

I’m so jealous of anyone who has a view at work. I have go to the lobby or stand in the corner of another department’s kitchenette to look out a window onto our parking lot and the traffic on hwy 12. Which I do sometimes! But some days I kind of forget there is such a thing as outside.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I’ll say tho that unlike the WX days, we have an overwhelming amount of social media, and so just keeping up, much less, interacting, on all platforms is just something I can’t do.

Yeah, nobody can really keep up anymore. Though Natter is manageable, so it's lovely to find people here. Whereas Natter was once a broad catch-all, in a way it's become a concentrated distillate.

But I’ve got bunches of friends in Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts, and it’s gorgeous on the seacoast. And I still get to see the Alters because I’ve got to be onsite fairly regularly still. So I’ll have the best of all worlds, I’m hoping.

So great! I'll needs lots of pictures of Flea's family interacting with your dogs at the beach.

Probably an undercut. I think clippers are in my near future.

This is such a good day.
