What Cash said - both counts. Hope the rest of the family stays well, or also has mild and quick, if not.
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Well, the streak is broken - in the second week of Plague Year Three, my daughter has tested positive for Covid. So far the rest of us are negative but I'm not going to hold my breath. Symptoms so far are mild and we're all as vaccinated as can be, so it could be worse, but still. Ugh.
At this point, I think you want to get Omicron IF you're vaxxed and boosted, and are not immunocompromised.
Then you're pretty much bulletproof with antibodies. At least for a few months.
"These times between variants are so precious."
Adding my vibes to your reserve for a mild and extremely uneventful course for A, Jess.
Yay, Robin! Her future school is so lucky to have her.
I'm sitting in the bedroom, hunkered down with my laptop and an after-dinner drink while Matilda, her boyfriend and one of her best friends watch From Up On Poppy Hill in the living room. Earlier evening activities included Matilda doing everyone else's eyebrows, which her boyfriend did not like. Her friend is right now not liking the deplorable lack of hot zombie action or, indeed, any supernatural elements in Poppy Hill. Later there will be homemade pizza, which everyone will like, followed by giving Prubs her evening meds, which she will grudgingly tolerate but that's about it.
And maybe we’ll see you in Chicago every now and then?
That is the hope!
Woo!
This is the first time I've been caught up in Natter since the start of the year! I utterly failed to compile a meara as I read, but I hope to keep up for a bit and respond to events properly.
Welcome to the present, aurelia!
I’m crossing my fingers I did not get COVID this weekend. Dance convention, the first one in a couple years, and most people were not masked. I did mask, but not super strictly (definitely when dancing, but took it off a few times to eat or drink).
Jess, hope the rest of the family miraculously avoids it, or it’s very mild!
Congrats, Robin! And the whole fam, of course. Yay Prubs, way to make a comeback! Hooray for tall people boats. My usual tag for things going well is a line from Overboard: "It's a great day at sea, sir!" Feel free to use and enjoy it going forward!
Easy case and fast healing for Aeryn, feel better soon for Sheryl, no achies for meara and no interference with her May event. Yay for meeting with friends for drinks and/or foods, at home or out and about.
If I missed something, apologies--so much good news! It's a great day at sea, sir!
Health~ma all round!
I'm overwhelmed with stuff to do and learn and once again had to give up on sleep. This time at 3:30 this morning. Ugh. Let's hope for a nap later.
Hope all stays OK, Jess.
Congrats to Robin!!
I’m crossing my fingers I did not get COVID this weekend.
Fingers crossed! After an unmasked memorial service the other weekend, I got very nervous, and realized I could (a) get an extra test at work, and (b) switch up my testing day. I had been testing on Mondays, which is actually practically useless, because basically all of my risk comes on the weekend! So now I'll test on Thursdays, which I'm feeling good about.
Love trying to decide if my migraine is bad enough that I can work from home and not drive to the office for the one day a week I drive to the office.
Called my doctor yesterday for steroids, and as with my botox, they didn't get shit done, so I'm going to start haunting their phone in 8 minutes when they open.
Not going into the office. I did make myself avocado toast with bacon and feta for breakfast.
