I did not watch the Oscar’s because I was at a friend’s birthday—she rented out a roller rink for a private party. I have not roller skated in…20 years?? And I went about ten feet and fell down. From there I managed two laps slowly and shakily and gave up. I feel bad about that. But today the base of my thumb where I caught myself hurts a lot so….maybe better I didn’t injure myself further? But it makes me feel old.

It's beautiful, but cold here today. This is my last week fully working from home (barring unexpected upsurges in COVID [which, honestly, would not be as unexpected as all that]). But even after we're "back" I'll only be going into the office one day a week, so that's not so bad. Enough to keep up with my coworkers and enjoy the Durham foodie scene, but not enough to get me tired of the commute again.

Well, the streak is broken - in the second week of Plague Year Three, my daughter has tested positive for Covid. So far the rest of us are negative but I'm not going to hold my breath. Symptoms so far are mild and we're all as vaccinated as can be, so it could be worse, but still. Ugh.
