I guess he got the ok from the People department late yesterday to create the new position and he's going to talk about it in a department meeting later today so he wanted to meet with us before that because we are the most affected. It's all done with good intentions, I think, just resulted in worry
And I'm about to go into my 4th back to back meeting of the morning, so come to think of it he may not have had a lot of options to schedule a last minute meeting when we would all be available
I'm headed to the airport in about an hour to head to Ft. Lauderdale for a very quick trip to help with Gay Mens Chorus South Florida, and also to check in on Pix's dad. Out there today, and back on Saturday. Tech the concert tomorrow, and the show is Friday night.
I'm already tired.

Well, the realtor has pulled themselves up a bit by sending me a link to a house we'd actually happily consider - if it were in the municipal fiber area. It's listed as part of next year's expansion, but fast internet is how we pay for the house, it's not a "would be nice to have".
Still! Single level, 3B/2B, integral two-car garage with access through the mudroom, woodburning insert in the family room off the kitchen plus an ASHP for heating and cooling, with a sunroom off of that; the lot's not huge but has mature fruit trees and is fully fenced. All for about $75 more than we're paying in rent. Someone's probably going to buy it for cash tomorrow, but it's a hopeful sign.

ION, Mediocre White Dudes With Inflated Importance Syndrome struck today. I belong to a local chapter of a national community organization. There was recently some high profile litigation related to the organization's purpose. The Law Department of my company asked the attorney who argued to case to do a presentation. The former president of the local organization chapter works at my company. He's a good dude, so I got permission for him to join the Zoom (usually limited to the Law Department).
I reached out to him to say "hey this is happening and you can join" and his response was "do they want me to speak?" I was like "no, sweetie, we'll let the nationally renowned Supreme Court litigator have this one."

Damn, today was truly a brutal Graham/Hawley/Cotton cage match to duke out who could bottom out faster and frolic in his own filth more shamelessly. (Kennedy and Mike Lee tried it, but they haven't got the depth or sophistication of filth; they'll never make varsity).
