Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.

Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

All done except for the bakery which was closed. That all took just an hour and a half.

IT IS SO LOVELY HERE TODAY! really lucked out taking these as my day's off. I have the sliding back door open to the deck and a VERY rare occurrence, the front curtain thrown open.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Groceries are running late. So I put everything in the crock pot minus the one ingredient that I do not have, and I'll add that in when the groceries arrive and then hopefully have enough time to run to the pharmacy before school pick up.

You've got friends to have good times with. When you need to share the trauma of a badly-written book with someone, that's when you go to family.

Oh, Teppy, thank any Deity Listening. May it go easily and well.

AHAHAHAHAHA

They're in there on a side chat bitching to one another about performance reviews. Ken is bitterly disappointed that HR will not accept "This person is awesome; they should keep being awesome and we should pay them more so they won't fuck off and leave me doing their job, too". I am entertained out of all proportion to what is actually under discussion.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

So now that we've settled on a MCM vibe for the garden apartment it really helped shape our decisions on furniture to get and seek out.

I've been wondering how to use the social space on the 2nd floor (where we'll be moving in). The current tenant has a big wooden dining room table in the dining room, and the doors completely open to the living room creating a large, open space with lots of light.

However, the first floor tenants (who have a 5 y.o. son) have those doors closed so that the dining room and living room are discrete spaces.

While the second floor is beautiful the way its done, we really don't need a large dining room with a big table. Aside from Thanksgiving and Xmas we don't have big sit down dinners.

So I'm thinking we'll close those doors and do something different with the dining room.

And Jacqueline and I have hit on the idea of creating the Lily and Vivian Charles Drinking Parlor in the dining room. Yeah. So we're going to need a bar and probably some loveseat action.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

If you're going to have a bar, did you know you can get Baby Yoda/Child tiki glasses and shot glasses? just a thought

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Eye patches required?

We do get raises, hooray! Less than inflation, boo. Still, better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Weather's been nice and warm the last few days, which is good since we still don't have a working furnace. (I'll have to ask Gary tonight if the furnace people have told him when the replacement will be installed. I didn't get to ask him yesterday as he had a dinner attached to his meeting, and didn't get home until almost 10.)

BTW< I am having a Caesar salad today. I ordered from Panera and I got a bread bowl of French onion soup to go with it to maximize both croutons and starches. Sometimes my decision making is pretty questionable.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I didn't manage to get pie yesterday, but I did get a Caesar salad today!
