Congrats on the sale, Laura!! So exciting!

I took my mom down to see her cousin in Lewes, DE yesterday. Cousin had pancreatic cancer and was in home hospice and Mom hadn't seen her since before the pandemic. It's about 3 hours away and took some coordination because my brother had to stay with my dad and a friend had to stay here with the dog (because Bob is in MI with his Dad who was just diagnosed with cancer and was in the hospital all week).

We got down there yesterday evening and saw my cousin late morning. She was lucid and knew us and seemed happy to see us but was clearly in a lot of pain. She was only conscious for ten minutes or so (which is what we expected).

She told my Mom that she loved her and would see her in heaven. Mom got a call from her cousin's husband this evening saying that she had passed at about 4 today. So grateful we made it down there.

Oh, lisah, how sad, but I'm so glad you were able to get your mother there.

I'm so glad you were able to get there with her, lisah, and that they got a bit of lucid time together.

Our wings are not tired.

{{lisah}} I'm glad that you and your mom were able to have that closure. I do hope that Bob's dad has a successful treatment in his near future.

We have listed or considered listing the house on and off for a dozen years and in that time the value tripled. Seriously, it was meant to not happen before now!

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I'm so sorry, but, oh, what a good thing that you and your mom were able to see her cousin and she knew you both and it gave her joy.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Oh wow, Lisa, I'm so glad you got there for a good (all things considered) visit. I'm sorry for your loss.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

I have spent the afternoon running laundry. whee.

My sister, ever the bargain hunter we were raised to be, got me into this “too good to go” app, where restaurants and bakeries give away their extra food at the end of the day/night. I’ve only used it one (at my fave bakery, which I’ve promptly never seen available again) but today tried some from a Piroshki place. $6 for a cherry turnover and two piroshki? Eh, not bad but since you don’t get to pick the flavors probably not something I’d get again. But fun experiment!
