I'm so sorry, but, oh, what a good thing that you and your mom were able to see her cousin and she knew you both and it gave her joy.

Oh wow, Lisa, I'm so glad you got there for a good (all things considered) visit. I'm sorry for your loss.
Everyone else has already said it so well. I'm holding you in my heart.
Thanks, everyone
Timelies all!
I have spent the afternoon running laundry. whee.
My sister, ever the bargain hunter we were raised to be, got me into this “too good to go” app, where restaurants and bakeries give away their extra food at the end of the day/night. I’ve only used it one (at my fave bakery, which I’ve promptly never seen available again) but today tried some from a Piroshki place. $6 for a cherry turnover and two piroshki? Eh, not bad but since you don’t get to pick the flavors probably not something I’d get again. But fun experiment!
Yeah, I've used that once, too! I wish I were more of a night owl, because there are few local places doing dinners at like 8 or 9.
Yeah mostly I’m lazy and don’t want to drive somewhere if I don’t know it’ll be absolutely worth it, especially weekdays. Mostly coffee shops here, it seems, and I don’t know if they always have great baked goods that I’d even want at 3pm! Whereas the bakery I would eat any of their stuff.
You can also get what's left at the Mexican place in Harvard Sq at like 3am -- I wonder if the students know about it!
Mmm, piroshki
