The closest I have been to Oklahoma is the musical, which I am very fond of, so I would do a lot of singing if I visited. Haven't been to Arkansaw either. Mostly a coastal girl! I did move a bunch of times in my first marriage, but all along the east coast.
Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
I have been to Oklahoma so many more times than I ever imagined I would go to Oklahoma before I met and married an Okie. We mostly go to Oklahoma City, so I can't speak to Tulsa (though I hear it's quite nice and a little more artsy/liberal than OKC) or most other places in the state, but OKC does have some cool spots. Downtown has a great botanical garden, plus an art gallery owned by Wayne Coyne (of the Flaming Lips), and the memorial to the 1995 bombing is quite moving and worth a visit. The zoo and science museum are actually both pretty impressive too.
Timelies all!
Mr. S had a major meltdown(We wouldn't let go back outside, because neither one of us wanted to go) and broke his tablet and the lightbulb from his lamp. We're not replacing the tablet right away(which of course led to more outbursts)
Random, but….why did I have nightmares last night that I was late for a flight and was trying to smuggle my dog in in a suitcase and freaking out he’d be found or have to gate check him but also that it was really clever to put him in a roll aboard in the overhead??? So weird. Multiple scenarios of that!!
Because I am a petty petty bitch who thrives on schadenfreude, I am getting a boatload of serotonin from finding out that the "parent church" in Columbus of my Freak-Ass Church down here has been the subject of a 5-night news investigation about being a fucking manipulative, damaging cult. No goddamn lie. Man, it's gotta SUCK to be such a shitty "church" that the news does an investigative story on you and they find so much dirt that they make it a 5-night series.
Yeah, sure, it's been like 20 years since I was a part of the FAC, and if I were a bigger person, I wouldn't care about this, but I am not, in fact, a bigger person, and this is giving me LIFE. I can't even tell you how much.

Fuck, yeah!
And fuck the FAC.

For real. I haven’t seen a multi-day news series like that since Rachel Maddox covered the Flint water crisis. And that involved a state government poisoning tens of thousands of people.
Yeah, what Hec has to say abut the FAC.
Signing contracts on house sale tonight. Agreed to a price. Quick timeline. 10 days for inspection, close March 23rd. May all be smooth with the various hoops. Yeah, I have to do some serious purging and packing too.

That's so exciting, Laura!!!

{offers a fistbump of solidarity}
Laura, woohoo!
