Brrr, Dana! 47 here, which we are absolutely not used to, and the rest of this week has predicted lows in the 30s. My whole body is shriveling at the thought of it.

Natter 77: I miss my friends. I miss my enemies. I miss the people I talked to every day.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, butt kicking, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
It's been such a cold winter here that when it's in the high 30s I've been going without a coat and been joking with strangers about how balmy the weather is.
Which is not me saying you shouldn't be cold. It's all relative to what we're used to. I am sick of it being 16 when I drive ltc to school in the morning.
I tried to light my fireplace because it’s surprisingly cold in here, but apparently at some point I turned off the pilot light (I’m not sure when—it’s usually overly warm in here, rather than cold, so I rarely use it) and I don’t know how to turn it back on! Oops. I need a handyperson
I started work an hour and a half early because I told my coworker I'd be available in case she had problems (and good thing, too, because she had a problem) and quit half an hour late because I just had a lot to do, basically, but now it's taco time!
I love this smeg fridge in yellow or blue [link]
OMG you can get a Union Jack fridge!
Fireman pole!
Actually with all her years of aerial, Matilda is an expert rope climber. Her gym teacher in Middle School would have her teach the others the proper technique.
My realtor said that both the purchase price and extensive renovations are well within their budget. So, hoping that this is the one. I am so ready.
Oooh, fingers and toes crossed. That sounds promising.
Batman pole from the turret room is a fantastic idea!
Eta: I bet you could work in a secret passage way hidden behind a bookshelf if you try
Eta: I bet you could work in a secret passage way hidden behind a bookshelf if you try
When Harlan Ellison took me on a tour of his house he told me he did have secret passageways behind the bookshelves. And I believed it because the entire house was built to his specs.
One of the historic homes I have toured in Martinez has a secret door into a secret bedroom behind a bookcase, built by the owner (I think he was a shipbuilder? Something like that) because he could. It was kind of a mundane and small guest room with the door open, but that it existed was super cool. I do daydream about doing something like that.
