"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

My realtor said that both the purchase price and extensive renovations are well within their budget. So, hoping that this is the one. I am so ready.

Oooh, fingers and toes crossed. That sounds promising.

Batman pole from the turret room is a fantastic idea!

When Harlan Ellison took me on a tour of his house he told me he did have secret passageways behind the bookshelves. And I believed it because the entire house was built to his specs.

One of the historic homes I have toured in Martinez has a secret door into a secret bedroom behind a bookcase, built by the owner (I think he was a shipbuilder? Something like that) because he could. It was kind of a mundane and small guest room with the door open, but that it existed was super cool. I do daydream about doing something like that.

Happy birthday, Laura!

I am making note of these beautiful appliances for future reference, as right I'm only in the market for the occasional small appliance.

I burned much of the day working on my performance evaluation, and predictably, waiting until the last minute to do a thing is awful and I hate it. I'll take another look at it tomorrow, but I'm torn between wanting to do a good job highlighting all the work I did and being paralyzed with not caring very much.

Well, I got the Pro Tools edits completed that were needed, so that's at least one things completely off the list.

Mentally slapping your hand, ND. I'm taking a victory lap every time I accomplish one thing.

ND, I am using Google Reminders for things like "Hey, go change the sheets", so from here you're doing okay.

My calendar is a sea of reminders and time blocks for almost everything and has been for quite some time, although the panini certainly has made the focus situation more dire.

My whole body is shriveling at the thought of it.

It gave me pause! I had to turn the heat back on and I may even go so far as to wear an actual coat.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ever since I learned that you can get a door with a bookshelf built on it, I've been trying to decide if/where that is feasible in my apartment. I'm not sure it would ever look like a secret door, but I am keeping the dream alive!!

Dana, you seem to have my weather! Near 70 today, freezing tomorrow (high of 35), snow Friday.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Yeah, probably the same front working its way east.

I tried for a while to find USB heated gloves I liked, but none of them really worked well. And then I found a heated desk pad. It is the best. It is extra best. I type and then I put my hands on it, and they are warmed.

I would never have thought of that, Dana. Glad it works!

Team work makes the dream work, Jesse. I don’t know how that applies to the bookshelf door, but it must somehow.

I don’t know if it’s possible to put into words how much I do not want to get out of bed right now. Cozy and warm in here under the blankets and cat; not any of that out there.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Yesterday I knocked over my cocktail in the bedroom shattering the glass and making a mess.

This morning my coffee tipped over on the uneven corner of the crate which serves as the bed end table making more of a mess.

This bedroom isolation biz is becoming less viable. According to CDC recs I actually could stop isolating five days after symptoms stop, but it'd be a huge mess if Matilda gets it. I guess I'll test again today.
