Thumbs up on the checkerboard from me. Especially if you get some big ol' chess or checker pieces to leave lying around on a square or two. Not required for my approval, of course. Looking at the online pictures and mentally substituting a green and white floor is very pleasing.

Hec, if you get a sort of vintage style floor, you MUST get a Hoosier Cabinet (this is how to build your own, but there are any number for sale).
And let me know - is Matilda claiming one of the turret rooms? they look to be something I'd have gone for when I was a teen.
