My highlight of the day was: Not spending most of it in the bedroom.
I ran early (masked of course) when the stadium was pretty empty.
JZ and Matilda, and her friend Mia left the house by noon, so I could roam around the house a bit and make myself some chili.
Jacqueline went by Community Thrift and bought a rocking chair that made her happy, a steamer trunk with a vintage Raffles Hotel Singapore sticker and a sturdy drop-leaf kitchen table that just needs her tender loving refinishing skills.
Still on the hunt for the ultimate Club Chair/Reading Chair. Leather, sturdy, just the right height, just the right amount of depth and cushion, wide arms. It's out there! I know because I used to sit in one at The Bindery.
How does everybody feel about green and white checkered floor tile for the kitchen? I've always been drawn to it and we keep finding green things for the kitchen.

First impression: no
Second impression: mostly white with green accent tiles might be okay. But not eye-bending busy checkerboard.
Who remembers the floor in the shop in Chocolat? Why do I think it was good? Lemme image search.
No. It's a star-and-block quilt-type pattern. Far too busy for a home kitchen. Nostalgic, though. Or maybe I just need to watch the movie again.
I came to post that it is our Birthday posting friend Laura Holt’s birthday today, according to Facebook! Happy birthday Laura!
Thank you! How dorky is it to be tickled by my birthday being 2/22/22! If only I were 22, but 68 will do just fine.
Many happy returns of the day, Laura!
Having trouble picturing green and white checkered floor, Hec - big squares? And you have a couple of kitchens, right, so which one are you thinking of?

An array of checkerboard floor appraoches: [link]
We'd re-do the flooring in the top floor kitchen.
Happy Twos-Day Birthday, Laura!
I think that floor would rock, Hec! I do love green.
Thanks everyone!
