We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Fingers crossed, family Zmayhem!

To be fair, my sister and her BF did not install the white carpet, but they haven't had the chance to remove it yet, and will probably leave it down for a while, given all the other projects they want to do on the house.

But the last two times I went up, my dog peed on the carpet (for psychological/emotional reasons, it was pretty clear), and I just don't find it restful to be constantly alert for that. And my sister's BF is a nice guy, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't want the dog to pee on the carpet! So that's an added source of stress.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The whole NFT thing seems like a classic economic bubble but even less based in reality. Like if we didn't actually have tulips but had to invent them just to have a bubble.

Well now I want to make an NFT that's just a picture of a tulip. (And sell it to some crypto-bro for a billion dollars.)

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

We made the bid at $2.6. It was listed at $2.45. It had originally been listed at $2.65 and didn't sell. So...hopefully we found the sweet spot.

They won't look at the bids until Tuesday so we've just got to wait. There were several other people at this open house.

We talked again with the woman who is the tenant who is leaving. Her father-in-law is selling the building out from under her. We told her that since the 60 days after close for owner move in puts us at mid-May in the Calendar we could let her finish the school year there with her two teenage kids (who have only known this place as their home). That's like an extra two and a half weeks.

I was able to talk directly to the guy who did the incredibly thorough (4 hour, top to bottom, 85 page report with pictures and blue arrows pointing at things) inspection. Got some clarity on the issues, and also asked him how to prioritize the issues for fixing.

So we're going in with a war chest saved up to deal with a variety of issues (new gutters, fix drainage on decorative balcony leaking into garage, dry rot around windows etc.). None of them are structural. It's just what you have to do when you buy a 110 year old building.

Fingers crossed.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Very exciting house bid news! Keeping my fingers crossed for you!!!

I am fucking exhausted beyond exhausted but just needed to complain about it to make it official. I may just nap until Super Bowl kickoff.

Good strategy!

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Inspections always find a ton of things that may or may not be freakout worthy.

Actual notes included: "this step isn't level. Trip hazard" and "stone in backyard path slightly raised - trip hazard."

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Very exciting, Hec! Fingers crossed.

Drinks are on you if you do, Jess.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Good luck, David!!

The only problem is you can't sell it for actual dollars, right?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

After the inspection report came back on the first house we bought, Husband had to call my father and be reassured that most of the things were not a big deal.
