Does anyone ever hear from Rio? I've been following this thing where Biden's incoming Deputy Chief of Staff called GOP lawmakers "fuckers" on account of how they are fuckers, and it makes me think of Rio and FUCKOS.

I follow her on facebook. She's had a bout of the long Covid (though not severe symptoms I gather, just hanging around forever), and was enjoying adventures in neighborhood opossums earlier in the year.

My closest cousin got a positive antibody test indicating she had contracted Covid at some point, but she can only remember a single day in October when she was unusually achy. I'm simultaneously very thankful that she's been even more careful than I have around Mom, and shocked that it was able to get past all the safety measures she's been religiously employing since early spring.

David I'm so sorry to hear about your friend.

Regarding mice, do traps or an exterminator (We had to deal with mice when we first moved into this house and the company we hired did an excellent job, they seal all points of entry to the house and then guarantee their work), but please make sure they are not using poison. It's a very real threat to predators like owls and hawks. We have lots of folks around here still using poison and it's heartbreaking seeing all the birds of prey that are dying from ingesting the rodents.

Thanks, all. I just haven't made a lot of male friends in the 21st century, so it's hard to lose one. I just don't think he's going to survive this.

He's the guy who had me on his radio show twice and we just had so much fun geeking out together over music. My Kenyon friend, Greta, is also close with him.

I first discovered Todd through his film blog. (Curiously, Greta and I - who've known each other since Soph year of college - were crossposting on Todd's blog with internet names, not knowing who the other person was.)

I've said I'm sorry so many times this year, it feels like it doesn't mean anything anymore. It's all so awful, and knowing it didn't have to happen is an extra kick in the gut.
