Thanks, all. I just haven't made a lot of male friends in the 21st century, so it's hard to lose one. I just don't think he's going to survive this.

He's the guy who had me on his radio show twice and we just had so much fun geeking out together over music. My Kenyon friend, Greta, is also close with him.

I first discovered Todd through his film blog. (Curiously, Greta and I - who've known each other since Soph year of college - were crossposting on Todd's blog with internet names, not knowing who the other person was.)

I've said I'm sorry so many times this year, it feels like it doesn't mean anything anymore. It's all so awful, and knowing it didn't have to happen is an extra kick in the gut.

Yeah, I drove around to a bunch of friends tonight dropping off cookies—and one set of friends responded yes they wanted cookies but one of them had just tested positive so please leave on the porch and they’d grab once I’m gone. Weirdly, the pediatric nurse? No COVID. The gym teacher working from home? COVID. Hoping they’re ok—fingers crossed, they’re young and healthy and the sweetest folks.
